Do you need information on that subject? I wouldn't say I know "a lot", probably the average amount as other sexually active females. So you've created a post about marriage and now you're asking about sex toys. Do you need relationship advice for a Ms. Hellotech? ;)

If Ive been hacked and I find out that it came from this site I wont be staying here either you know. I have not formated the computer yet so I have all the time in the world to look into it. To answer your question I dont know how hacking works but from what little I do understand you would need to be able to have access to the web server. Those types of attacks can only happen while you are connected to the web server as far as I understand though. Theres no way to trace back your ip from reading logs or anything. Tor has pretty good protections against hackers as well. From what I understand.

Im glad you dont want Sherlock to stop. I also totally understand where youre coming from, which is why I specifically didnt want to talk about any technicalities. It simply encourages a lot of people to show off what they can do. and some people might only know how to crack systems. Theres always some idiot who wants to take the whole thing to the next level.

You're computer savvy as far as I'm concerned. You say you have been hacked through TOR though? How is that possible, and what can one get through that hacking? Everything that's online about you, everything that's on your device? I'm not going to install Linux or God knows what for this site. If this hacking business is confirmed and starts to take off on around here, I'll leave you have to have fun among yourselves.

I don't want Sherlock to stop, I enjoy it. But this screening stuff that's been going on feels a bit too invasive and it isn't used just for spotting puppets anymore. But maybe that's just because I don't really understand it, and people don't like what they don't understan

I think neither WW or HelloTech would use their knowledge for real harm, so I don't have anything to say against them or what they're doing. As long as only WW and FT play with this stuff, it's fine by me.

The most successful attacks are usually the most simplistic ones.

If I wanted to "hack" someone her I would most likely go low tech and simply rely on social engineering tactics. How many links do people blindly follow on this site for instance? It wouldn't be difficult to redirect someone to a compremised web server.

From there you have a tracable IP, most PC's run through wireless routers, that can easily be reconfigured to sniff traffic without even attempting to metasploit the users actual box. But if they did decide to lay down a framework, most users here probably aren't using properly protected boxes.

And for the people thinking TOR can keep you masked:

My point here: If the NSA/FBI can do it, anyone can.

No one is unhackable, hubris is the downfall of many.

To be fair, it wasn't TOR that was hacked, it was an older version of Firefox that comes with the TOR Browser Bundle.
