Luna, the vulnerability isn't fixed.  As proof I see the new sql account has a new login and password that resembles the linguistic equivalent of Charlie Brown's parents when talking.

Yeah. I realized this during the followup tests.

That was me implementing the followup fixes and changing the password.

EDIT: In more detail - the problem was uncaught exceptions were allowed to the end user in raw form. The message FatherLucifer saw (quoted here) is the fix. It will no longer go into detail about the error. This should apply to all uncaught exceptions from this point on. I am continuing testing to ensure it really does catch everything.

Things are getting really creepy among all this computer talk. There are enough computer savvy people around, they look through/analyse posts and talk about finding security vulnerabilities, and I have no idea how to protect myself against cyber attacks and (wtf?) "having my digital identity ripped apart" besides using Tor.

I would like to point out that I am not too computer savvy. I know that your identity can be ripped apart on a forum like this though. Ive been hacked twice in my life and both time it was because I pissed someone off. The first time was with windows and I was using my real ip. The second time was with ubuntu and I was using tor browser. Nothing too serious came from either of the two incidents.

anyhow if you want me to stop the sherlock game I can stop itl. It wasnt my intention to creep anyone out. also I assure you I have never tried hacking anyone, the whole concept seems ridiculous to me. I would also not know how to.

as a side note and I dont want to creep you out or anything but im currently using a different computer to post on this forum because I suspect my other computer may have been hacked. I noticed some files having been accessed which Im pretty confident I hadnt accessed. There was also an extra user created on my computer. it may have been some application that accessed the files though. If you want to feel safer then I suggest downloading tails linux or something and use that for posting on this forum.

Or you could get hit by a bus.  What I mean is, yes use things like TOR, and definitely look both ways before crossing, but don't let it stop you from doing what you want to do.

You're computer savvy as far as I'm concerned. You say you have been hacked through TOR though? How is that possible, and what can one get through that hacking? Everything that's online about you, everything that's on your device? I'm not going to install Linux or God knows what for this site. If this hacking business is confirmed and starts to take off on around here, I'll leave you have to have fun among yourselves.

I don't want Sherlock to stop, I enjoy it. But this screening stuff that's been going on feels a bit too invasive and it isn't used just for spotting puppets anymore. But maybe that's just because I don't really understand it, and people don't like what they don't understand.

Revenge doesn't appeal to me nearly as much as protecting myself.

You get the honor of first-hand educating me. Maybe on more than just information security. Or I could educate you... depends on the situation I suppose.
