Been thinking about this alot- especially since I have been clean.

I love security,  physical and in computers. I think that once I'm out of the corp I'll work with a locksmith to get more refined on lockpicking and such- (I got my sargent in his office last week when he locked his keys in the office, via paperclips) ill do that for a while because I will be studying networking security at the same time. Then I will work with pentesters and networking secirity experts after the schooling.

I will save my money, get a loan- and start a security business, that is skilled in locksmithing, and home security,  as well as networking security- ill be a contractor in a sense.

In time as business grows I intend to devolope my own locks and security systems as well as computer software. I wont stop until im a multimillion dollar industry!

In order to help promote my home security business, ill have myself and a reliable crew rob rich neighborhoods houses (gets them mindful about thier security) ill specifically aim for houses woth rival security companies equipment and runthem out of town because others will see them as Iinnefective!

Sounds a whole lot better than your earlier days here, when you of bragged about emo pants, heroin consumption, and chain wielding in south-central suburbia.

What motiviates you all for the sake of progress, I don't know, but I find it very inspirational.

It's not failure, but if you were to lose that drive then fall back, that would be very upsetting for those who are watching you rise from the gutter.

Another great resource is http://www.lockpicking101.com/

and

These resources are a great place to learn about mechanical locks, electronics require more specialised training and are usually only offered to liscenced locksmiths.

Again, it's good to have an idea of what you want, but you need to make an actual plan... what steps are you taking to learn more about it? what is something measurable that you can do to show forward progress? what skills do you have that are marketable, and what skills do you need to learn etc...

as far as the IT side of security goes, you will need to get familiar with linux, a great pentest suite is one called Backtrack http://www.backtrack-linux.org/

they actually offer classes too that you can get certified in, but the golden standard is still CEH http://www.eccouncil.org/Certification/certified-ethical-hacker for pen testers.

CompTIAs security plus http://certification.comptia.org/getCertified/certifications/security.aspx is also highly sought after and CISSP https://www.isc2.org/CISSP/Default.aspx to an even higher degree
