it was a little strained at times but i am on good terms with my father. what is it you want to know? and who is 'us'?

why was it strained?

 because he didn't understand how to separate what he wanted for me from what i wanted for me. he was also extremely unpredictable, which always made me quite tense whenever there was any conflict involving him.
