A large part of the issue is M.E.'s publicity.
Then again, awareness is education's primary purpose.
I guess we just have to deal with the consequences.
by AlteregoYeeeah, that looks very cool.
Like I said, sometimes I do stupid shit.
Have you ever gone skydiving?
I've tried but noone will let me. All of the skydiving places around here have weight limits for first timers. I think it's 220 lbs. I weigh more than that so I starved myself but when I showed them I was under the limit they then told me I was "physically too big for them" or "too big to control".
Hm, well you could always opt to not go freefalling the first time, and instead let them take you up 2800 ft. You'll only get about 10 seconds of that sweet rush, but you'll have to climb out of the plane and hang off the wing- which is, in fact, more of a thrill than letting go.
Are you heavy because you are tall and work out, or are you just, ahem, "heavy set"? (Damn, I must like you to be asking so politely. :p)
If you really want to lose weight, starving yourself is a poor strategy, because it will cause your metabolism to slow down and hoard every calorie you consume by storing it as fat. The body is extraorinarily efficient. I just lost 20 pounds because I decided I want to be a size 8 instead of a size 10. I have a muscular build so the scale took a longer time to reflect my progress than the mirror, but it still took months to do it sensibly. But it might take less time for a man, who started out with more to lose.

I'll have to look into that. I didn't know about it.

I'm tall and muscular. Not too long go I worked out a lot and drank protein shakes, etc. I was easily big enough to play on the offensive line in the NFL. Way too big. I'm answering politely instead of saying something like "Let's get naked together so you can find out..." so I must like you too. :)

When I starved myself I was hoping I had enough water in me to lose to get under 220. I did it as a quick fix, not a permanent thing. I've found that the big thing about weight with me is if I cut out sugar, especially sugary drinks.
Well, that's a lot better than being fat, lol. But I'm not a superficial person in that way. I'm way more interested in what's in a person's mind than what they look like- and a retort like that one is not liable to do anything other than stick in mine. So if that's how you talk to people you dislike, feel free to disdain me all you wish. ;)
Ugh. Someone slap the cute out of me now. :p
