work*
Is this something we should be concerned about?
Tor is so dreadfully slow. and I don't see any child molesters.
by SensitiveSoulAnyway, thanks for stopping bye anyway, Jay. ;)
Logging on without any protection you will still have the system masking your host. They might see what ISP you use though.
I might take a look at the IRC channel later on.
Notice also how Tom never gets pissed off when Jay insults him but he throws a tantrum whenever someone else insults him. Oh, and they have nearly identical activities. They post on the same dates and their hourly activities are extremely similar ( I can post the graphs later on). I think it's safe to assume that if Tom is not Jay then they at least know each other outside this forum. I've pretty much ruled out all other options.
Yes. Both of them said they were 26. And when Jay suddenly got a life and stopped posting so much (which mysteriously happened after you posted those funny vids of military guys and made fun of him for staying on this site 24/7), so did Tom. I think they're either the same person or gay lovers.
Probably dropped off the list while no one was in there. They update quite often I notice. Anyway... direct link to Mibbit connect:

What you need to worry about if you connect through the ISP directly is that the system might or might not show which ISP you use. Some ISPs are very local. Some bigger ISPs like to include what state they operate from. That might feel like giving out too much info for some. However, since the system cloaks you, a standard user cannot see your true IP unless you open a DCC chat or something like that. When you send a standard email, you usually include your true IP, so that is much worse.
If you are paranoid you might always use something to proxy your connection. Just note that most bigger chat networks use several blacklist so sometimes it can be hard to find a proxy/sock that works. Tor is an option also, I guess.
Vhost is not meant to be a secure type of cloak, but it's pretty nice anyway. If you have a registered nick on the network, you can apply for a Vhost that will show instead of your cloaked ISP.
Short answer is, you cannot be tracked down to your doorstep. Someone might be able to see a very general wereabout you are. So if you say you are in Alaska and your ISP points at Florida that might not be so smart. ;)
