If you don't mind snow, you could go up north. Iron Mountain Michican, for example, has a pretty low population, and as a result, land, and resources are pretty cheap, and jobs are in demand due to logging and mining industry.
If you're thinking South, than Daytona Beach, Florida isn't a bad place. It's beautiful, jobs are a bit more difficult to find, but you can easily find a place to stay for cheap, and if you could always attend the local community college with government grants or even student loans if you don't care about debt.
Those are the only two places I can think of, but I'm sure there are plenty!
