I'm not quite sure. Few bands I like split up and yet I'm careless about that because they created enough good songs for me to listen. And I certainly wouldn't donate money for let's say Hopkins if he ever needed some for his cancer treatment or whatever unless I'd get something in return which isn't moral satisfaction. I like ice cream but I don't worship it. You? :-)
I always find it fascinating when I find a dead animal. I'll bend over to look at it, wonder about all the little creatures eating it, returning its raw materials to the ground. Other people are generally grossed out/wonder why I would find it interesting. Circle of life, very simple.
Excitement? When I was a kid, sure. Stories for another time. It's actually quite natural even for a young boy to become aroused by a woman's naked corpse. As an adult, I instead see beauty in dead animals, it is simply nature's way. On the other hand, the pictures of the lemurs didn't really register, if it was supposed to be art that person needs to up their game.
This is the typical response I've heard from my friends, especially women. Not sure why there's a gender distinction. There is literally shit floating in the air all the time, I just keep a respectable distance and appreciate the direct observation of nature recycling from higher to lower entropy forms.
I'm not just a fan of destruction though. Trees are model sociopaths, trying to overgrow and resource-exploit their lessers, ultimately becoming dominant in their monopoly of the sun's energy. Without those nasty buggers, or their cousins, eating away at a corpse, there would be no nutrients available to see all the pretty trees and flowers grow up. I like trees, so I appreciate the buggers.
