She's good at *picking* or recommending qualities for a makeup product to have, picking out what the product is, and the colors. She knows what people want, she has an excellent eye for what the products need to look like, perform like, feel like, etc. She's a makeup guru in this realm. A literal god.

But she's not good with public relations. Being the face of a brand. Marketing. Branding. Packaging. Being a brand owner. Being a CEO. Running a business. Business in general, she is not, a business guru. A financial guru.

She is only good at makeup. Does this mean she is a formulation queen, a chemist god? No.

I think that people expect this level of excellence in all areas regarding her products because of how excellent she is at makeup and recommending bomb bomb makeup products for people to use, to look fuckng flawless and amazing.

But the truth is, an entire fucking company, an entire brand, goes behind these "beauty guru" brands. Like Kylie cosmetics, huda beauty, Jeffree Star. They make it seem like it's just the face- doing all the work. But it's not.

She made the mistake of taking full reigns and full control of the brand herself, without seeking advise from professional business owners or hiring them onto her team. People responsible for the lab, for the formulation itself. Testing it. Etc. For the person who manages the shipping. For the person who manages the website. For the person who manages the Public relations. (which, she had none of). Someone managing the branding and marketing. Someone managing Jaclyn Hill herself as talent and face of a brand. Someone managing the packaging design and making sure that's flawless. someone responsible for the brands financial well being. people who manage the warehouses. people who manage the security. people who manage human relations (HR) staff for customers and staff.

her team seems to be, just her and her family. this leaves a lot of room for error in a first time business owner.

just because you are wealthy and internet famous, and good at makeup- does not make you good at all of these things too, it doesn't make you a brand owner.

there is a whole side of it underneath and a lot more goes into it than just picking out the pretty colors and the pretty packaging and making a youtube video talking about how pretty it is.

she should of spent that 100,000 dollars she wasted on lab testing, on hiring an amazing support team to develop everything to make sure her first launch went a lot smoother. she should of sought the advise of people who do what she doesn't know how to and who have done it fucking well for a long time consistently. in this game you need mentors and you need support.

and it really seems like her "team" either didn't have it together/wasn't professional at all, or was just non-existent.

a lot more time should of went into the development, a lot of shit was rushed, she left no room for error by not testing her products. and it was highly unprofessional all around.

people like Jeffree and hula beauty, and Kylie, are laughing their asses off right now and going, "oh you poor baby."

because its just so obvious she has no idea what she's doing, and now she's just scrambling and it looks so pathetic and unprofessional lol

even the aftermath isn't being handled professionally.

I think she really needs to invest in a company and a team and get a lot more support and professional advise and really take her time with a next launch if she is determined to continue her brand.

if I were her I would just pull out all together and make a separate cosmetics brand that no one knows I own and just market that. because the name is so tainted rn.
