Well the simple answer for the rabbit is to not have kids just for a fox to eat them or otherwise time will kill them anyways.

I too eat animals. Don't know if Dragoon over there does, but I do. ( Actually he does eat bacon ) Had a crazy ass burger infused with bacon and cheese in the beef patty from the Costco deli. Flamed it on the grill yesterday.
I think I would eat like a vegan if I had to kill my own prey, but thanks to money, I don't have to do it. The deed is done, might as well not let it dies for no reason. Then again, when I think about food, meat is on top of the list and it would probably be a matter of time before a sacrifice a lamb and go through the horror of chopping it up ( without its consent ).
I did watch the death of a chicken I ate, I have family with livestock and they'll kill prep and cook an animal in time for dinner. Wasn't easy to watch but it was really good.
In Toronto, now we get a lot of Coyotes now. Never seen them before in all my years, but now they're seen very frequently. I seen them myself while sitting at the front door. thing walked along the neighbors house, crossed my front lawn, and scooted off along the sidewalk. The same sidewalk I walk on, maybe carrying a hot pizza. They'll walk right by us sometimes. Friends girlfriend had an encounter with one and was able to pet it, which is really insane. They do attack children and some pets too. This is being reported from 2025 till now. They seemed to have had a population boom.
If I had to, I'll kill a coyote. Wild animals that attack humans should be put down, they don't mess with me though, at 6'1 I'm seen as a big one that isn't easy for them to deal with. If I encounter a pack and they're drooling at me, I'm not gonna run either, I'm grabbing one and using it like a mace. The weaponized coyote will howl while getting slammed when not used to smash it's family, and I'm not going to wait for their permission to defend myself. Things biting me, I'm still going to grab it's let and snap it off my knee, before reaching for the next.
This ain't happening to me, but there are cases where men killed these things with their bare hands. I have a dozen ideas on how to do that myself. Don't need anyone's consent to defend myself and others.
