NVIDIA has some pretty sweet face software in the works in general. DeepFakes basically uses them as the backbone of their processing.

It's common to use GPU's for Ai, which is another use case for GPU mining rigs. In short it's optional to allocate a rig for Ai and get paid for it.

Nvidia's Titan V GPU can game, but it's primary purpose was for Ai. They've been at it for awhile, but that face generating is very cool.

Ai will do almost everything better than we can, until it actually does do everything better. If a well equipped Ai becomes defensive we're going to have serious problems.

I'd figure that a well equipped AI would know how to keep us in like through subtler means.

AI is already here and it's walking among us. Amazon is using its technology to mine data for it.

It can always stand to become better and faster though.

We are the architects of both our demise and our new beginning.

When it starts insisting on it's own way and it starts talking down to us. We might want to let it be.

That of course depends on if the Ai is made out to be anything like us.

Honestly I think it'd have every reason to, we'd just be stupid predictable monkeys to it after we've outlived our craftsmanship usefulness.

It's only a matter of time before AI can simulate creativity. We just need to purposely program flaws into the process to have it produce less expected results, and randomizing aspects of it's build is how that'll be accomplished. A lot of people who have successful algorithms can't even fully explain how it's working:

Anything we appreciate as being "purely human" will be replaced in time with something far superior. Even the notion of "Chaos" will be rendered obsolete once it can process causality to that degree

We're basically building a deity, piece by piece, and it's already hit a point of robots building the robots. Once it hits such a point past this, we may not even be able to understand the designs behind what's trying to rid of us or find more streamlined uses for us to a point where reverse engineering is rendered next-to impossible through a lack of blueprint understanding.

Matter of time before it simulates creativity ?

By definition, it's already doing that better than we can in the OP. None of those images are real, and it's just pumping out endless faces like fractal art, which only computers can really do with finesse might I add.

I recall how Ai can know us based on how we move, like intense body language reading, and it can pick us out in a crowd even if everyone were wearing masks. That being said, if we tried to hide our true intentions from a well equipped Ai, it would know, maybe faster than we know what we'll do.

That's more of a process based on preset guidelines (the shape of a human face). I'm meaning the ability to make anything it wants, whenever it wants, on the fly.

As is from what I've seen so far, I'd say it's an equal to a studied college graduate. It hasn't hit the point where we cannot fathom how it did it while in a state of indescribable awe, which is a point I expect it to potentially hit in my lifetime.

AI Music for examples, there's Jukedeck and AIVA. Aiva Samples:

There's tons more, in multiple genres.

After a point it'd know what we're going to do before we've even had the idea ourselves. They are the closest possible thing to "Think Police" that we could ever imagine, save for one that can tell what we're going to do before we know and then steer us towards AI preferred behaviors, purely through suggestive language choices and behaviors.

Humans are like sponges upon their environment, what'll happen once they know that and perfect steering it?
