can someone please tell me what artist this was, he was like known for the black and white dark chunky paintings like this. it was considered minimalist art, early 90's, he lived in new york and had an art studio there that was filled with these kind of paintings.
they're all *very* expensive... he is one of my favorite artists but i forgot his name and i can't read the signature.
i've been trying to look up his art forever and have only been able to find people copying the artistic style (for cheap and not good at all)
but I finally found an original painting (difficult to do when you've forgotten the fucking name of the artist)
and... WHATS HIS FUCKING NAME lol surely one of you art nerds knows it
he's known for this type of painting... very famous.
It just arouses my protest against lazy art, like much of Ives Klien's works do for me:
I think they spend hours deliberating on these 'art pieces'. And they still believe its art at the end.
It's more about "The Artist's Statement", aka how they market it.
I hate that shit so much.
