It's sad that with how attached to him you are and how much you make it appear that you talk with him that you have no idea how to push his buttons. This is the sort of thing I'd expect to read from someone who's never PMed with him.

 I find it more interesting how you need to believe he is faking being unaffected. It's almost like he is the embodiment of what you wish you could be. 

I've literally seen it multiple times, and I'm not alone there. 

Either you are justifying how you can't see it, or you are justifying how it's never happened when you've been talking to him.

I think you're reaching and/or projecting. I'd say Inq values intellectual honesty and when that's dismissed by people who prefer magical fantasies over provable facts he might get annoyed at the most. Usually he just drops the convo. That's not being emotionally affected.
