The internet letting people live in portable realities has not helped their case either. These days the physical world is just an upkeep for our online subscription intolerance. Check Furries for the extreme example... but truth is that they were simply ahead of the "curve" from being the most sensitive from the start.
CGP Grey covers this phenomenon by using "Germs" as a metaphor for viral thoughts:
Misleading title, great material. I wish more people'd consider themselves potential victims of this phenomenon, but they always think they, and at times their own side, are above it.
I'm in this boat myself with Roger Stone media. Can't shake it.

Like seriously, what's the point if it's mandatory?
Love isn't what society makes it out to be. It doesn't mean giving 100% to others in the sense of romance. Love is simply the action of promoting functionality.
Loving acts are always rewarding in some way shape of form, though sometimes the return are things we take for granted. In this case the dude was provided with a cool experience, and some viral video.
As far as politics goes, the loud ones don't exactly practice love, and we see it being more chaotic than productive. Maybe a civil war even, as politics caused this before. Interestingly enough one side is always deeper in the negative. i.e. Blacks were freed through politics, civil war breaks out.
As for friends and family that don't see eye to eye with me when it comes to politics. Meh. I'm not angry at them, but I'm angry for them cause they express hatred on command while gleefully accept dysfunction in a substitute. Still I'm there whenever they decide to join me, if they never already cut me off.

There is love, and then there is law. When it becomes mandatory it neuters what makes love so good.
I love thy neighbor because I want to, not because I have to, and one side saying they are "the side of love" is just a smokescreen for their fascism. It really means "You're with us or against us".
It's also an excuse for "Higher-Than-Thou" thinking. They keep trying to tell me shit like how they HAVE to "show them the way" like they think The Right can't think for themselves and it's disgusting.
It makes me scream the same way as the assholes that spout "If you have nothing nice to say then say nothing at all, so shut up".

To love your neighbor is simply letting them be on the most part. If love is up for debate, then it'd argue that it's necessary. It's why we've made it this far, and it's why we even have dialog. We do expect a certain degree of give and take even online. If not the world would be comprised of too many enemies and there would be no progress. No internet, no plumbing, no electricity, no share in technology. Nothing. We'd be destroying one another if we suddenly stopped caring.
As human beings, love is required from the day we're born, while the unloving/uncaring Mother who gave birth in some cases, have thrown their infants in the garbage.
No it's not something you need to do, but if one is geared toward pushing away others, or subject to cruel behavior, then their life will get pretty rough. No business, no clients, and without kindness, they wouldn't even be able to beg on the street. Even those who are indifferent toward how they are treated, know it's unwise to do any business with those who display certain traits.
For what love really is, we wouldn't have even made it this far.
See, you're actually describing human connectedness, and I do agree that we need empathy and respect for our fellow man to get shit done. It's the closest thing we have to a bumble bee's level of hive mind, and that's how you get shit done: Unity.
Those people meanwhile are trying to force a modified variant down our throats, fascism labeled as something else. The "love" they are toting is not love at all, but hateful conformist bullcrap.
They don't want love, they want to feel safe from being afraid, and it's becoming increasingly militant.
It's practically becoming ISIS's idea of "Peace" as time goes on: "Kill the enemy until only our own remain".
Yeah, some activists turn hippy and they call it love while performing disgraceful acts like public tantrums fighting for nonsensical things. It's really a power move, while the less fortunate and less powerful want to call the shots.
Kinda like how Ed is insisting Primal be allowed entry, meanwhile her past with the forum's creator is pretty serious so Ed's demand COULDN'T POSSIBLY be as important. By no means is that love, or an act of love for this community. I have nothing against Primal personally, but If we all protested Primal be allowed entry here this forum would collapse.
You may notice groups like Antifa always get steam rolled everytime people push back on them, and the Antifa appearance physically and mentally is typically frail, like real geeky. It may sound bad for me to say this but in general it's true. I feel it's for such reasons they persue these power struggles because such victory is sweet.
Hillary told them they were "Stronger Together" before they started getting themselves into situations they couldn't handle. Even if we google Antifa members or mug shots or whatever, you can tell 99.9% of them are easy prey. I'll leave out the spiritual implications I have in regard to this, but these people are miserable in advance and they lack attributes in them more commonly associated with love.
