~40 hours after being places in mold, removed bubble wrap. Soap in tupperware is hard in the center, loaf is still very mushy. Thick enough to hold honey comb design, removed bubble wrap to let it dry more efficiently, may need to delay unmolding.
5 hours past expected unmolding, loaf is still too wet. Placed in sunny window sill window open 3 inches. Soda ash forming, sprayed with alcohol.
Next time:
Infuse chamomile into water instead of oil, add oat milk sparingly after emulsion, use sodium lactate.
I have had to wait 5+ days for certain batches to be ready to unmold. Usually 48 hours but longer is ok too.
If you have a mold with a lot of detail (like the honeycomb) then the addition of beeswax makes the soap visibly shrink in the mold and keep the detail within 24 hours. You have to heat the oil to at least 150 degrees for the beeswax to melt but then you can either place the bowl in a cold water bath to cool faster or let it sit. Timing it with the lye water is tricky but I soap within 10 degrees of each other with no problems.
An digital lazer thermometer is the best for checking the temps but I've used a food thermometer too.
I'm excited to see your pictures!
