You see no issues with how quickly you jumped onto a strawman argument simply because you believed that it conflicted with your source? What if further into the video they hadn't answered your point, but otherwise still delivered accurate information?

If in the beginning it's speaking about how NO ONE CAN ENTER, and the way it's wording it is that you literally cannot go into North Korea, then yea, I'm going to have some issues with that. 1:14, he speaks about they do not want ANYONE IN, then later on the correct themselves, much like I corrected myself.

Are you kidding me, other than from boomers it's mostly made out to be a joke. "Sea of Fire" is the silliest thing from them, and their shenanigans are pure comedy. The work it takes to get inside though's legit.

What sort of "big brother state" are you talking about in your case, as the place has a pretty awful distribution of resources and their censorship practices are at points barbaric.

I'm speaking about how the WEST portrays them as the highly controlled orwellian state, hence the words like hermit kingdom and regime. Their distribution of resources is actually what's kept the going, and yes on some level they have markets which is unfortunate. However, maybe if the sanctions placed against them weren't so heavy, those people suffering could be better off.

Even if you want to point at "Sea of Fire" and other shenanigans of "aggression" it's not even as severe as the West's track record.

Is their censorship practices that bad? Why is it that north korean content gets censored on youtube? I used to watch two north korean channels until they got terminated. one was called stimmeskorea. On some level sure, there's censorship and such, what do you truly expect from a country surrounded by enemies across the globe? Do you really find such a development to be that ridiculous?

What's worth noticing about North Korea are where their government and their figurehead don't always agree, but in the end it's their government's interests that pass instead of their leader's simple idealism. He's basically a child king in an adult's body, but the system he's in the middle of is a fucking mess. They need help, but they need the help to be there when the framework is ideal.

I'd like to touch on this on another time.

If they weren't such a pathetic force to behold through poor organizing and a bad history, their mentality would present a very real danger.

I don't know why you see them as a pathetic force, they do have nuclear capability to hit america, but I highly doubt they ever would, because I don't think they're crazy.

They can't afford it, but they need to peacock to not look bad in front of the other leaders.

Seriously, they have done some sad strategies in the past.

Has America never done anything similar? Honestly, I don't even know why America needs to maintain presence in the south, they seem to always butt in when the south and north have talks.

Like what?

Well, the meme I posted above is a great example.

It's not like the US ever flexed nuclear aggression the DPRK before.

If it's alright with you, I'll be taking a break from that documentary series, I watched the first part, I plan to continue the other two.

I plan to refresh my memory, send me sources on north korea, if you want. It's been a while since I've discussed North Korea, so yes I'm going to be slightly bad at debating, but I enjoy this.

I thought of visiting the DPRK some years ago. I wanted that bazaar experience. You have to go to China first then catch a plane there.

In the first video in the OP I'm amazed those guys were even allowed to mingle with the locals in the water park.

I'm a fan of the Dennis Rodman Kim Jong Un friendship.

According to Dennis he as visited NK half a dozen times last I heard, and he shoots the shit with Un.

A country where no one is allowed to wear jeans or have markings on their skin. This is amazing.

At the time Dennis Rodman was the only human being in the world, who was friends with Kim Jong Un and Donald Trump.

Do I give Dennis Rodman credit for the improved relations between the US and North Korea ?

Not entirely. I do think Dennis is a cog in all of this though. Funny enough so is Vice Media considering they are the reason Dennis met Kim Jong Un. The Above image is Dennis gifting the DPRK a copy of The Art of the Deal, before Trump and Un started peace talks.

Today the animosity between the North and South have improved significantly around the same time Trump visited the North and South.

Trump's 2nd meeting with Kim Jong Un was more historical as Trump crossed over the border into North Korea. I had a feeling Un would be the one to take steps to improve their relations.

The Nobel Peace Prize has lost it's dignity right about the time they gave it to Obama for nothing.

Me. Too.

It was our first real taste of who Un really is. He doesn't seem like a bad guy, and even some speeches from him later show very soft empathy, but he's been sheltered and is under the control of his framework under lock and key.

It really shows during what times he's allowed to have small concessions.

Like... okay, I looked into Rodman's history a while back since he's astrologically the same combo as my father.

Rodman's hit the sauce and some other drugs a bit too hard, he's half-lost and dreamily sleepwalking through his life now in a somewhat childlike mindset that has a very strong love for the things he cares about. It takes someone like that to drop politics and let the relations with Un actually... be about something as trivial as Basketball. He's otherwise about "vibes" and "feel good notions" despite sounding so straight forward about it, as Rodman shows in many of his interviews. He'd be pushing "Peace and Love" like a hippy if it were in his more immediate codex.

If they sent in a more expected diplomat instead of Rodman, we'd never have seen this side of Un. Sometimes life's better for it's unplanned portions, and I respect how much Rodman refuses to play the government spy or trash talker mindset against either country, but it's a shame he's so lost to the sauce.

Kim Jong Un, Donald Trump

This concerned so many people, while I was more excited that two adult children were going to meet in a playpen.

The Nobel Peace Prize has lost it's dignity right about the time they gave it to Obama for nothing.

It lost it long before that, this is just an excuse for a bipartisan jab.

Rodman was one of the best trolls to hit the NBA. The foul king.

Rodman was used by Vice to bribe the DPRK into letting them back into the country to make another documentary. It worked considering Kim Jong il and Un were Chicago Bulls fans.

Funny enough it would have been Jordan, but there were all kinds of reasons he never went. As it turned out Rodman turned out beautifully.

Still a great documentary.

I've seen this too, it has some really nice scenes for cultural awkwardness and it shows us so much through just watching the people.

I just watched the whole thing again. It is the best NK documentary ever made. Ever.

The way it ended with them gaining a little access to the public. Like the DPRK was taking on a new leaf for the next generation. And the way the children crowded around them and they were all so happy. Just beautiful.
