Frequently in my experience, when someone has told me their favorite color is green, they follow this by the association "it's the color of money, the color of nature" etc. The colors I gravitate to are based more on aesthetics than emotions. Pink, peach, robin's egg blue, all GORGEOUS. I've always hated yellow though. yuck. bright yellow, pastel yellow, any shade. Even yellow flowers I don't like. This conflicts with one of my favorite foods though. Yolks <3 egg yolks are bae <3 Last month I painted my nails fall inspired orange and caramel colors. The entire week I keep thinking this color pattern would have actually worked better with a harvest corn yellow, but of course I don't own yellow nail polish.
This month I've been learning how to make soap, and the theme on some major soap blogs for the month is bees and honey. yellow, yellow everywhere. ingredients like honey, bee pollen, and honeycomb shaped molds. With all the immersion in yellow honey themed soap making I'm somehow starting to hate yellow less for the first time in my life. I even bought a yellow china glaze to do a new yellow orange caramel fall nail art look.
Has anyone else found their aesthetic tastes in colors has changed if they developed a new emotional or mental association with the color?
