I used to rinse out old coffee filters for the water that would go into cooking new batches.  Tweak the amount of baking soda and water used until you reach maximum product. Use this same coke: baking soda ratio as you move up to larger amounts.

 This is another mistake i also made a lot as a newbie, and had to learn to get past. Using "little" baking soda doesnt improve the purity of your freebase, it just means you end up with a mixture of part freebased crack, part cocaine hydrochloride. The baking soda isnt a magic catalyst that makes cocaine turn hard. It reacts, FREEing the Cocaine base molecule from the water soluble hydrochloric molecule. Thats why cooked crack will float above the water. Baking soda is water soluble, it wont lower your purity unless you mix in a ton, and arent careful to scrap the top.

You probably wasted a lot of cocaine if you didnt use much baking soda and then tried to smoke that powder

its ok chapo, they might  be poor with no money making skills, but they have drug knowledge and experience!

 crack is heavier. you take 6g okay coke you get 7g great coke that can't be sniffed if you did it right.
