So you'd hope those ahead of you know better than to pull the lever, literally every single person, because in your version they announced an extra rule.

Got it.

If I were far along the line, say lucky number 32, I can pass or kill half the population then for all I know the next 'guy' could be a deranged transexual, angry at the world cause he was barred from using the little girls room.

There are no outcomes.

Bruh it's called a hypothetical.

Surely you're at least that smart.

I do have faith in God. I kinda do for humanity too. Most human beings are good people. If they see a way to end something like this without incident, a vast majority would pass.

I also know death isn't the end and I don't fear it. Only pain.

What we think and say and do becomes us when we're no longer here as we are in this life. Going forward in fear and insecurity is a bad idea in that regard. It's an unproductive and limited state of being

I also think most worlds would kill the first person, unless the species is more properly developed and benevolent in ways that the universe opens up to them. While other worlds make their kills, the one who scores a perfect stands out as being greater.

Exodus 21:12-14:
He that striketh a man with a will to kill him, shall be put to death.

But he that did not lie in wait for him, but God delivered him into his hands: I will appoint thee a place to which he must flee.

If a man kill his neighbour on set purpose and by lying in wait for him: thou shalt take him away from my altar, that he may die.

To refrain from pulling the lever when it comes your turn could kill many more. Why risk it?

There is no hypothetical outcome. Just speculation and assumption with various models and versions of the game.

My version there's a way out. Not sure if your version changed, as you assumed the game would default to imminent death if it reached it's turning point.

It can also kill less, for the exact reasons I wrote here multiple times.

If this game were confined to SC members, who are eccentric, and I had to go first. I'd pull the lever even if the rules were clear and based on my model.

So I have multiple reasons:
Pulling the lever makes me an actor
Not pulling is the simplest and most recreatable path.
Even if I end up on the rails, at least it will be a bunch of other people too.
There are already existing methods of genocide, such as poverty and war, so it wouldn't be a big deal if someone eventually pulls the lever.
