i admit it, im a softy, anyone need a hug? :)
actually what destroyed SC is the in-fighting like TC said.
narc infighting
Luna destroyed SC, nobody else.
I guess technically, depending on if you're arguing more for it's physical presence than the spirit of it.
To argue the spirit of it really depends on when someone joined.
You fucking SC boomers need to chill out
Every other years this happens. The Old SC, is early days of SW and nabble anything after that isn't old in terms of community history.
I can't even speak for nabble but the SW days were pitiful. The status quo was actually pretending to be a sociopath, taking 4 different online quizzes weekly to show off your cool ASPD confirming results to your friends. It was a gutter, one where the arguments were paper thin assumptions and generalizations because no one wanted to reveal anything about themselves. This was only the case because again, status quo of being a big bad socio was arguing wall the time, pointlessly.
The best thing that ever happened to this community was the forming of it's counter culture. When people actually started laughing at the sad spectacle of pretend sociopaths online. Once general edge was out of the way, this just became a place for a close knit community of introverts to socialize. It's a reserved form of social media for 20-30 people who generally had an interest in psychology from their own experiences.
I am not a fan of cuddle boxes and this place is far from it. Critique is handed out in abundance still.
You want the old SC level edge, go fucking join some degenerate gutter like FC or Asylum. Over there arguing with people online all day will still net you those neat e-rep points.
degenerates.
There has got to be a level of trust here. I mean the site indicates something that most people have serious taboos about. But if you post here/make an account does that then validate your posts on the site? Definitely not, but being a snark nosed troll just isn't very likeable. If people really are cold and calculated they should be able to communicate with words easily, and not have to speak like some pauper who drives trucks. It's all a balance I guess. I have a lot of dark shit to talk about it most of the time ( and joke about) so that's what I'm personally down for

Are you lumping everyone from back then with ThrillKill?

Dude, that's always been SC, that's how we began on the blog. People just tend to not notice the hypocritical stank they leave behind when they're doing it.

There were more thrill kill types and more people openly claiming ASPD. Back then being a "neurotypical" was looked down upon. TK was only shamed because everyone obviously knew it was fake. This did not apply for people with less glamorous stories

No. SC has not always been about shaming people for wildly sociopathic behavior. It was praised in the SW times unless like you skinned a cat and even then it could pass with the right wording. If any sort of shaming was done in that manner, it was done so by someone claiming to have "real" ASPD traits. It was the most self entitled, delusioned hole of the internet I have seen to this day.
The older days of SC were about being "tuff", yeah, but believe me we were all collectively laughing at the ones who tried too hard. It was a sort of "We might be bad, but at least we aren't those guys!" kind of thing.
...then "those guys" stopped coming once the blog was done with us, and it turned inward. Suddenly all the claims once made were being challenged by drama-hungry users, and that's milled people down to having the label seem shameful instead of a bragging right.
It started with questioning the legitimacy of their diagnosis claims, then it mutated into "Well why would I even want to say I have ASPD?" defensively.
