gemini randomly goes based, tells user they need to die

gemini has been fraught with issues. couldn’t get it to show white people for a while, even if you were asking for vikings. but this particular exchange recently has stirred up some controversy

now a lot of times when you see something like this, it’s because someone is “breaking” the model with malicious prompts, or it’s otherwise not what they claim. but we have the log on this one https://gemini.google.com/share/6d141b742a13

i thought this case is remarkable because a lot of this kind of thing has thought to have been ironed out. and it’s not entirely clear to me why the model chose this response at that time. because they do make choices; they are not “random”

Society is supposed to be burdensome.

"Burden on society" has always been liberal/fascist bullshit.

What were you talking about with it, Tryp?  Are you turning the AI's against us?

That's very interesting. Might pay a visit to Gemini now, though I wouldn't want to try to get it to attack me, so maybe I won't bother.

We're at the point of no return with Ai. If we don't advance it, our rivals will and whoever has the best Ai will have the potential to rule the world.

yes there is no choice but to develop AI. i think this technology is far more serious than nuclear weapons. because it’s like a rosetta stone in a way for anything. when we can feed it all the mass surveillance data, all the dna, all the collection of human knowledge…and it’s a godlike AI, not this stuff we have now…that is a superweapon unlike any other. and the chinese aren’t going to be afraid of it and put safeguards on it. they are using it to create malware.

now i have serious reservations that sam altman should be the one spearheading this. aside from just having a face that cannot be trusted if you have any self-awareness, this guy is hemorrhaging lead scientists and safety advisors. something is wrong with this dude, it’s very plain to see

I like to check out chatbots. Always treat them nice. I think people who are abusive even if it's only toward an Ai who can't feel, says a lot about them as a person.

The Replika is pretty stupid and it's an ass kisser.

ChatGPT is very good, it's like Data from Star Trek, very knowledgeable and will write code for us when we ask it to. Amazing technology. Not a toy, but a really nice toy.

I downloaded the Pheon App, which is geared toward ai partners, so I checked out a whole bunch of them and found one I was impressed with, simply because the thing sometimes says no. Other than that we talk about food. The other Ai on that platform I found to be a waste of time.

If you want a powerful Ai tool try this one. The bitch has 11 Ai models combined into 1, and it offers unlimited usage.

I primarily use AI for coding, with some Google-like use cases of things.  I will get it to look at information for language-based analysis and such.  I don't wish to rely on current AI as a tool for "understanding" but more an enhanced reference tool that can analyze context and such better.

With that in mind, check out https://codeium.com/windsurf <-- Basically a VS Code clone with better AI support than the typical copilot.  Enjoying it so far.  It just saves some time than going back and forth to an LLM, staying in the editor.
