Edit: We'll see how this looks months down the line when abortions become a state policy. It's too early to see the real protests vs it, the verdict just happened.

It shouldn't be about proving what they believe, it should be about sympathy for those who have been given further reason to consider this path. Bringing up how their bo' is totes understanding doesn't fix the larger problem, and it's like rubbing their privileged love situation in their faces.
Complete separation is sexual prohibition, that being the expectation is unrealistic unless they already show bisexual leanings. There's already been a lesbian movement of this sort where they have been against anything relatively phallic, but that will always remain closer to the the extreme end over how people can't hold a protest.
There's also little reason to bother with this style of protest other than to prove something to yourself. While I find proving things to myself worth doing (sometimes to the point of absurdity), most don't.
