what is the name of that feeling where

...you share something that is deep within you, and it makes the people around you feel uncomfortable because they think it means you consider them a good friend but they don't feel the friendship is mutual? Is there an English word for this?

It usually evokes sympathy/empathy and a sense of awkwardness, as you necessarily need to confess you dont give a shit about the person at their lowest, but is it possible for this to be used for comic value? I suppose the only way it would be considered absurd is when there is feigned ignorance and insult to the recipient in a way that makes it clear you don't consider them your friend, while being innocent enough not to be taken as defensive.

I'm really interested in how people perceive actions especially thosw that are often considered involuntary. Am I the only one?

In general it would be referred to as a 'one-sided relationship', but that's broader than what I'd imagine you're looking for.

Sympathy is typically granted to the one putting in the effort in such cases, unless it's so far dissociated from the other person that it's become a Parasocial Relationship.

Not without it being at someone's expense.

Sometimes there's people who seem to expect reciprocation based on what they've chosen to invest into the relationship. In such a case the expectation is the problem in spite of reciprocity being a normal response.

For example, Med.

Yes, one sided relationship is a bit broad.

Im really referring to the feeling of the recipient. It's not really just sympathy, it's a very particular type of sympathy combined with shame.

Yes Med is an example of someone who evokes that feeling.

SMH..  I'm too tired to think right now. I don't know if turning that feeling into comedy requires someone to lose face. I can see how asking for help and then getting angry at the person for trying to help is absurd. So maybe the same applies here, simple loss of face of the donor through stupidity and self destruction is enough.

Is there any other type of comedy except absurdism? To me it all reduces to a sense of the absurd and unexpected. The brain rewards witnessing unexpected twists and turns because it means we learn something new. This is why biology made us laugh. To learn new things. That's why once we've heard a joke once, it's no longer funny. Did we just Crack the evolutionary key to comedy?

If the theory is right, then given how difficult it is to pinpoint that shared feeling evoked by someone disclosing a deep part of themselves in a way that is not reciprocated, I think the evolutionary comedy theory would posit that it will be almost infinitely funny when turned to absurdity, as it is infinitely novel and therefore infinitely rewarding to the brain. The rush of dopamine into the brain of the recipient upon telling the joke will be insane.

But if only you know what the joke is about, it will only be funny to you. Until someone understands it by accident. I believe comedy can induce derealization.

pretty much anything could if the individual has propensity for it especially, triggers can be really subjective and odd

Yes but I believe I can do it at will. I have an analytical model.

I'd never do it, of course, unless I thought it was beneficial to the person. But it's interesting from a purely academic perspective to know I could if I wanted to.

what's the finnish word?

Thats a really interesting question. That reminds me that there are very specific expressions in some languages that don't exist in others. It's a bit like how Uralic languages lack the kind of passion present in the Germanic languages like English, and especially Latin based languages. There are things you can't quite translate to Finnish, like "procrastination" which simply doesn't have an equivalent word in Finnish (the official translation really doesn't match in meaning). Likewise, you can't express anger in Finnish like you can in English. I feel like English as a language is more advanced, and superior to Finnish in many ways. The only language I can think of that is worse is Swedish, because on top of being gay and useless in vocabulary it also makes you sound like a girl. If you're a woman, Swedish is kinda hot and cute, but if you're a man, it's totally unacceptable. They should really split the language to two, one language for the women and another for the men, and name them Swemen and Swewo.

"myötähäpeä" is probably the closest Finnisb word I can think of, but it's also too broad: https://lawhimsy.com/2022/03/23/word-nerd-myotahapea/

It's really referring to a feeling of shame mixed with sympathy/embarrassment on behalf of someone. However, when someone shares with you their deepest secrets it's not just shame on their behalf that you'd feel but it's something more specific, like you're feeling embarrassed by yourself for not being able to reciprocate.

I think there's no apt Finnish word for it. Maybe one of the Asian languages has it.
