SC was fun when I was running it because my brother and I made updates all the time. We rebuilt the website from the ground up 3 times over, almost once a year. Even at the end I was working on a senator system which caused lots of drama and controversy.
With my shutting down SC, Jim no longer had a reason to attack this place. Also, Turncoat got locked in as permant-mod and the owner (good) basicly stopped particiapting and does not take any effort to advertise or improve.
This place has grown stale. It used to be dynamic and interesting with mods regularily changing. The site used to have smart people having real discussions and disagreements. Now it's all just attention seeking autists with nothing of substance to say, and turncoat responding as much as he can to give the appearance of an active community
SC died when I shut it down. All that remains now is TC and Good trying to keep the community I built on life support, but without having the same passion I did for it. You guys should have been kinder to me and stayed loyal because I was the one with passion and ambition for this place. Now the people in charge just care about remaining in power but are boring and too lazy to do anything big. TC deserves to lose his power for how disloyal he was to me and I'm happy to see SC die for that to happen. I will not help any SC that TC is mod of
The sticky threads really rub me the wrong way too. Nobody wanted it. The idea of stickying threads goes against the philosophy that this place was founded on-- that we are all equal and that mods are nothing but janitors. Now TC and Good have given themselves special power to put their own threads forever at the top of the list and that is a sign of their corruption and a breakdown on the values this community was founded on. There are thousands of forums with corrupt mods with all the power. This place is no longer special. It was better when we all hated the mods, TC included. Once upon a time he took mod so that no self-serving jerk would become mod-- only to become that self serving jerk. TC is uncool and boring and nobody finds him interesting or wants to waste away their lives having circular conversations with him. All the cool people have left becsaue there is no longer anyone cool in power. Under my SC you could ask for new features and feel like they might get implimented becasue I listened. Now everyone here knows not to ask for anything becasue you all know Good and TC don't care at all.
Hey Luna how's life treating you? Long time no see. Are you still in that company in Milwaukee or are you finally living your life? I always had really high expectations of you, so I'm very curious where you end up. I'd like to see you succeed in life, like you dreamed of when you were a little kid.
I was watching this horrid debate/show with "Pearl Davis" and I had this nightmare vision that it's actually you, from reading a couple of your reddit posts. I hope not, because she's such a prostitute for media, selling her self worth to youtube consumers who think they're escaping the matrix. I have faith you can do better.
To be honest, I totally agree with you. I think you were the one supporting the forum, and the community died once you were gone.
Both Turncoat and Bohemian, it's no overstatement to say that this community is still breathing because of you. However, neither of you can hold a candle to Luna. Luna was like a tornado when it came to SC, destroying everything in her wake and driving you mad. You all loved the drama. Personally, I think Luna is incredibly smart. She knew what she was doing, and you all bought into it. My take is that she decided to move to bigger things when she realized this forum was too small for her. Or, rather, my hope is that she decided to move onto bigger things.
Anyway, now there's no drama. So here we are. The only great reveal left is Friedrich's identity. But he's not stepping into the limelight much, so....Maybe not as exciting a reveal. The way I viewed things, and maybe I was the only one, was that everyone had a deck of cards, and my job was to see everyone's cards. Friedrich is the only pokemon I haven't collected. Even Inquirer played his cards. It's a shame, really. Maybe nobody except me realised that we were playing a game, and what the rules were. I guess the only other thing I'm missing is Turncoat's photo and screenshots collection, burned somewhere on several USBs and DVD disk copies. Maybe when Turncoat asks me what I'd like for my birthday, I can ask for a copy.
At any rate, we can't all be stuck in adolescence can we? Pizza and popcorn every night isn't really sustainable anymore when you're in your late 20s, 30s, and 40s. Right?
I think you are correct. It was a game for some. They lost and left. Some of them rage quit.
