Honestly I really hate games with realistic graphics.
Tell me that after you play silent hill 2 on max settings raytracing on with a 4070ti and i9
The most current thing I really have my eye on right now is the Raspberry Pi 5. If/when I get the money, I'd love to get several and stack them into a mini-server/desktop. A lot of fun projects one can do with various of their Pi products.
Those are good off the shelf parts for various applications. I formulated a plan to keep one liquid cooled while concealed in.....*Turns head*...... a robotic silicone doll. I think a lot of important and non-important robotics will be controlled with Ai through a 5G wifi connection, and Raspberry Pi will be used.
One day...maybe a 3d printer? :)
Lots you could make interactive and custom, decorations to automation.
Thought you'd have such a thing if you wanted it by now.
Here I'm mumbling in front of my 3D printer as it scribbles a part into existence. The sounds the stepper motors makes turns any environment into a lab. It's actually a robot.
This 3D printer had a terrible launch and maintains a bad reputation, but a firmware update fixed ALL of it's issues. While the space hates on the Makerbot 5th Gen. I swear since they patched this sucker, it's fail rate is absolute 0. Not once did it fuck up. And 3D prints detach from it's raft very easily if we print making one.
If you have a 3D printer you can get away without any 3D skills, but the skills in any 3D software will help you a ton. Not only can you print whatever you model yourself, but you can modify anything you download.
I have a HyperX headset and some piece broke, so I looked around and found this piece here. For free.
What was dumb was how the part came assembled, so I imported it into Maya and divided the 2 parts like so.
Not only did I have to separate the 2 pieces but I found the inside had clipping. The black thing on the polygon surface are inverted faces, so I had to basically blow away the whole surface where the problem was, and rebuild it.
Usually we have to debur 3D prints but they turned out fine. They took about 5 minutes each to print.
Went to Home Depot and in the nuts and bolts section, they never had my size. ( We do Metric while the author of this part suggested imperial standard ) But the guy helping me at Home Depot was a total geek and suggested the closest scale to what I needed off the top of his head, and what do you know ? He impressed me. The nuts fit perfectly and I couldn't really be arsed to cut the bolts.
And yes I ran out of black filament. But I don't particularly care. This little project saved me over a hundred bucks, plus it was fun to do.
.
.
I thought of getting a resin 3D printer cause the finished item is really good quality, though I find I'm losing interest in the type of applications I would use it for. It's more hassle after printing too, like we not only have to fix any imperfections, but we have to give it a bath and spray it and do all this chemical stuff before it's ready for whatever's next.
But what can be done, a one off model can be made, air bush to perfection, and I mean do a damn good job, list it for sale online and include the amount of time it took to complete and sell for an insane price. Make it 1 of 10, or 1 of 1, and it'll be gone in a day and appear on some enthusiasts website or displayed somewhere online. Too time consuming.
200 years ago, Bill Gates once said this....
Then....
- Bill bought Kildall's CP/M and modified it into MS DOS, (Dirty Operating System) and used it to create windows for IBM.
- Steve Jobs had a Cow and tried to sue Bill for making Windows too similar to OSX
- Bill won.
- Bill made Windows open to anyone who wanted to build a computer, and so the big brands started rolling out so hard, that IBM was pushed out of the PC market.
- Apple was getting gang banged in the market by computers that were compatible with one another. Apple did not submit to Bill.
So because of Microsoft, and all these brands using Microsoft, the big party of development was on all these brands that were compatible with one another. Doesn't matter which console the consume bought, developers will be compatible with their Dell, or IBM, or Compaq or Sony or whatever PC.
Computers evolved into a "can do" phase. And the world saw them playing videos and music, and showing pictures. Before that computers did not do any of those things. They were all 8 Bit machines showing low resolution graphics and playing chiptunes.
This is the IBM Aptiva. It was 5 grand as PC's like this were getting cheaper. That capsule looking thing to the right is a subwoofer. The PC was rocking It can game. It was easy to learn. Also, the Internet, was no longer something from a movie, it was happening for real and we loved it.
Apple did not want to play with Microsoft. Microsoft hurt them. That blue TV is a Mac. It damn near killed Apple.
At this time Bill Gates became the richest man in the world. As he made money on every PC sale and still does.
Apple needed something. A game. Yes. A game ! A good game, and they had one. Here is Steve Jobs in 1999 presenting Halo to the world for the first time ever !
Bill said "Hey Steve, that's really neat." Then Bill went and bought Bungie in the year 2000.
Halo is said to be a 6 billion dollar franchise now, which is peanuts for such a thing, but it also put Microsoft on the Map as one of the 3 great game console brands which is even bigger
PC and Xbox combined ( all Microsoft) runs the gaming market, which also adds to the computer development party going on with PC hardware and software.
Video games demand more and more magic, so when Intel AMD and Nvidia go on to make more powerful hardware, they do it with the PC in mind as their products are modular in nature and easier to sell to the PC market. Mac will come out from time to time with a new Mac Pro, and it'll have the hardware ( not the best or latest ) and no basically no triple A games.
I built my PC 9 years ago. And it's STILL able to run the latest games. If I wanted to I can put the latest and greatest RTX 500 series GPU and by CPU will not bottleneck it. Specs are what matters and I have no reason to upgrade. Mac isn't like that.
They say Mac is good for professionals. But there isn't anything a Mac can do, that a PC can't, and the PC will do it faster as it evolves quicker, and it can actually afford to be for cheaper than the Mac due to sales and competing with itself across other brands.
Bill Gates is Apple's worst nightmare. He sucked out their opportunity to be the one and only. If not Bill, someone else probably would have done it, but Bill did it with such finesse, he basically raped Apple. Even bought and sold Apple shares.
Apple damn near died. They came in late and started putting Intel chips into their computers which shocked us all.
Before the final nail in Apple's coffin, in 2007 Steve Jobs came out with iPhone. It looked exactly like the iPod that came out the year before.
The ipod was basically a pocket hard drive with a touch screen. It played iTunes, not mp3. iTunes kinda sucked cause it wasn't cool like Napster, nor was it playing along with the mp3 players of the time.
It was the iPhone now. All about those apps. And what ? For the first time the average consumer can walk around and browse the internet on a single device ?
- Apple fought tooth and nail to be it's own company, and not just another clone or empty shell comprised of everyone else's hardware while the PC has no problem being the best of everything that's available.
If you want the most powerful computer money can buy, it will be a PC build with an AMD Threadripper, with some top of the line RTX card, fuck ton of memory like 256GB or 512GB of RAM ( wayyyyy good for life ), and the build will last you for the rest of your life. Maybe you'll change the GPU in 7 years and nothing more. It needn't be that powerful, but it will be ready to upgrade for decades.
All that power is not for the Solidworks or Autocad. Not for that Photoshop which is an easy task on grandmas computer. Not for the music software, or spreadsheet. It's for what Apple doesn't really offer cause Apple couldn't compete with the the multiple focus groups that were procreating with one another on the PC.
What Apple does have, is some of you. Their fans. The one button push and presto it's done. Easy peasy. You don't need much, "hey look, the pros use Apple. Apple is cool."
The iPhone is getting cheaper isn't it. It has to. It's the same story as the PC. Everyone else is on Android, while Android is having better sex with the PC. Samsung is rass, making the best screens, providing Apple with their iPhone screens. 108 Mega Pixel Camera on Galaxy S Ultra.
What if we had a calendar that was an AI application synchronized with all your devices, your entire device & cloud storage yes thank you
And anyway the point of it is you can literally just command prompt in your tasks and things you’re thinking about needing to get done and it’ll literally create all the calendars and time tables and fucking analytics habit tracking time blocking you regiments reminders all in perfect fucking order so clean and clear
and all you have to do is just be like talk or type into the box like it’s Siri talking to you or whatever and ur like yeah make the calendar look like this, okay i want it more like that- yeah. And- remind me to pick up dog food.
And then the smart technology will like make every task as synchronized and automated as possible so it, makes your schedule maximized for proficiency and time keeping, task mastering, etc. like, its truly a ‘smart planner’ that will literally make your entire life better
and you can have different sections for different things if you’re really into fitness or whatever it is you want to sort of keep a log of, it’ll do that and then create data from it in all kinds of ways automatically so you can like stay educated and informed about what the fuck you’re doing and always tailoring it to your needs custom
all with AI like AI optimization app or something i don’t know what to call it but it could have a lot of applications this is just like one avenue i took it down just because… i can’t remember everything at once
and i want the AI to have my brain and sort it for me in a way that is better than i ever could of imagined

You ought to abandon it and move onto another platform.

She'll never leave Apple, because she's been charmed by the Apple logo and her devices must have it. Even though she wants Apple to be more like the PC.

Blanc is stuck in a loop, not knowing she can just get a mouse and it'll work on the Mac. It has to be an Apple mouse she's happy with.

The mouse i linked sorry the image is fuzzy but it’s a windows mouse, it was the standard thing they were offering at the time when i got the windows surface desktop
I’m. Not loyal to apple- i have both. I’m interested in all tech- not just apple. Lol
