this is the least exciting thing to talk about in the field of tech but

why isn't the apple mouse wirelessly charging? like i know that would make it pricey but i'd buy one. and then the mouse pad can be the charging point.

like, is this idea disgustingly terrible or- like what am i missng. why is there a charging port on the bottom of the mouse lol

why.

also why we're being petty, i feel like, okay what is the ideal surface to use the apple designed mouse on? because it would make sense for them to make the that too

Apple is always a bit behind when it comes to computers, but aesthetically ahead in other fields.

Their recent All in One chips are super innovative but I prefer the repairability and upgradability of something like a Framework laptop if talking about higher end speciality laptops. I find the idea of expensive all in one pcs to be ironic while a less expensive repairable one can be justified. To me part of the value of an all in one pc is better price to performance which just doesn't exist right now. Apple likes to sell to rich/aspirant people.

I am too lazy right now to post the M2 chip vs i7 gen 12 CPU benchmarks, but I think M2 is like 6% or so better.  Of course, this depends on one's use and intent.

On that note, one can argue compatibility: so many Windows apps, games, etc., versus the market for Mac and Linux.  In the Mac and Linux arena, emulation is possible, of course, but that might get expensive in other areas to accommodate.

On that front, why not parallel a bunch of Raspberry Pis?  They're coming out with the Raspberry Pi 5.  You can do a lot with parallel computing with them, especially if you are comfortable with Linux.  Besides, you could use some sort of virtual emulation and get whatever OS you are trying to achieve.  Raspberry Pis are individually $80, and the peripherals aren't that expensive either, with the sim cards, etc.  So if you really want cheap, you could do it.  And it's all capable in 4k now with the Pi 5.

These are all just considerations for what you're after, financially and technologically.

Honestly I really hate games with realistic graphics. Wrong direction for them imo but it's what people want. I use Windows for the peripheral software like mouse and keyboard because I am bad at figuring out Linux more than installing basic things.

Manjaro is pretty good for device compatibility, afaik.  Also, the Raspberry Desktop would catch my peripherals pretty decent.

Yeah but lighting and button macros and sensitivity profiles

The most current thing I really have my eye on right now is the Raspberry Pi 5.  If/when I get the money, I'd love to get several and stack them into a mini-server/desktop.  A lot of fun projects one can do with various of their Pi products.

One day...maybe a 3d printer? :)

Lots you could make interactive and custom, decorations to automation.

I want to be able to cross pollinate my open apps across PC and Mac Devices

And I don't want to do the whole drag the window from one screen to the other thing with your mouse. There should just be a button in the top bar of the browser window next to the x and the minimize, maximize, just a little arrow or a sparkle emoji I don't care and then it automatically appears- the window you had open- on- the other computer monitor

And obviously, if you have more than two screens, like six or eight there would just be a small window that allows you to select which screen the window will go to that pops open when you click on the arrow- and you can label each monitor/change their colors and custom arrange the display/order format of this window box thing that opens- however you want.

Like, our computers, need to be able to be even more in sync and "talking" with each other. I know they're finally allowing some more collaboration between Andriod and Apple devices, when it comes to the phones and texting and such.

So now that we've opened the door into that window I'm like okay let's, let's go all the way with this concept. PC and Mac shaking hands.
