It got boring. Found other things to do and yeah discord can be significantly better.
Can't really bring new people here, it's not wanted and they cringe at most of the content.
Duh.

Moreso this whole thread.

It strayed too far from its original purpose. At least when it was vaguely associated with ME’s blog it had some theme to it, some topic for people to start posts about, however off track they’d end up.
maybe that’s as it should be though, maybe everything that can be said about sociopathy/psychopathy/ASPD has been said already. It needs a new theme or something if people actually want to keep it going. At the moment it’s like a sad old men’s pub where the regulars have nothing left to say to each other

"has already been said" Yes, it's cliche.

What subject though?
I always saw the subject matter as more of an excuse to get people talking, as the M.E. factor's been gone for the majority of this community's existence. Many who ended up here never even saw the blog in question, but did see Luna as a common enemy or otherwise could focus on someone else being spotlit while naive enough to think it'd never become their own turn.
The "old men's pub where regulars have nothing left to say to eachother" I'd figure would remain the same situation even with a new subject to focus on, unless that subject is what it takes to bring in new people. It's not just that it's all been said and we know eachother to that degree, it's also that people feel too weak to withstand the criticism that'd follow saying their own truths whereas before they were strong enough to take it.
As is the place doesn't really have a common enemy anymore to serve as a lightning rod, and no one wants to risk becoming it. The ones making the most topics are like a brick wall when it comes to conversation, which discourages others from interacting with them. M.E.'s blog in that way brought in some hilarious try-hards that the community could tear to shreds.
At the end of the day, it's the people others claimed to hate that kept them coming back, while some of those very things are also what kept new people away. This community was unusual over embracing negative emotions, which brought out an interesting culture from it's regulars and, with it, an allure to the few who understood the value in that. If the subject changes too much it's basically selling out those values, but this topic also died around the time Sherlock Holmes did.
Yeah, that’s what I meant, it was like a conversation starter, some vague theme which would at least provoke some thread creation even if they always went off in a different direction.
And totally agree re the lack of big personalities/people willing to be in the spotlight. I guess part of the appeal of the old SC was there were some, how can I put it, unusual characters who you wouldn’t meet every day. Whereas now, no offence to anyone here, but it’s not characters that different from the type of people most of us would know irl.
I really can’t believe it’s been approx 10 yrs since I first came across this place, that makes me feel very old. I guess part of the issue is maybe a lot of the old members have now grown up and got jobs and families and actual responsibilities now XD

Well, be careful: don't believe all the hype. What is this place known for than its ...you know what I mean?
What about you?

Thanks. Still true, or no? On a personal and general level.
