If you had the choice to live until a set age in full health and relative youth, what age would you choose to live to?
You can only choose once. And suicide is not an option, you are unable to die until the end of your 'term'.
I'm thinking if I would make myself practically immortal by heaping billions of years onto my life, in hopes of experiencing humanity's journey into the stars and mind uploading, among other technologies that both don't exist yet, or are unimaginable and basically magic to us right now.
But if that happens and I end up being fried alive for 500 million years in the core of a star whose gravity keeps me trapped, I'd be quite regretful.
Then again, an opportunity like this would feel like a waste if I chose to live for "only" 2000 years. Time is tricky
