"As the person accepts the calling and becomes a shaman, their illness usually disappears. The “self-cure of a psychosis” is so typical of the shaman that some anthropologists have argued that anyone without this experience should be described only as a healer. The concept of the “wounded healer” addresses the necessity of the shaman-to-be entering into extreme personal crisis in preparation of his/her role in the community as a healer"

this is why I keep saying that I am "being prepared / being initiated / being trained" because I am not 100 percent healed yet and I am being led and guided out of my psychosis  there will eventually be a full remission of my psychosis but I will remain a shaman and that includes being in both spiritual visual and spiritual auditorial communication with the spirits and that can include visions and hallucinations and such  although spirit prefers to use music and other people's writings and words to communicate with me and I do not hear auditory hallucinations very often at all

Traditional cultures distinguish between serious mental illness and the initiatory crisis experienced by some shamans-to-be. Anthropological accounts show that babbling confused words, displaying curious eating habits, singing continuously, dancing wildly, and being “tormented by spirits” are common elements in shamanic initiatory crises. In shamanic cultures, such crises are interpreted as an indication of an individual’s destiny to become a shaman, rather than a sign of mental illness. If the illness occurs in an appropriate cultural context, the shaman returns from the crisis not only healed, but able to heal others…

so yes I am still in psychosis right now and yes I am aware of it,  and I am starting to come out of it which is why I am starting to focus on doing less spastic stuff and more healing stuff  but the only way that I am going to actually come out of this is by listening to spirit which is why I am opening up fully to their guidance and the visions and visual hallucinations are happening more frequently although they are not actual hallucinations since I am aware that they are simply spirit symbolically communicating to me and there is always a message and a lesson

There are cultures that handle Schizos as Shaman by the way, the two are not that different at a base level. As my Abnormal Psych class went on about, a lot of what makes something a Disorder or not is a matter of cultural context.

A lot of Shamanism has featured Psychadelics, which Schizophrenia basically can have hit them free of charge while also reporting different experiences from trips. They also tend to report odd sensitivities and sensory disturbances as well as some synesthesia, and the language style is usually pretty strange like a Shaman's can be.

Before demonizing Schizophrenia, I would recommend looking into what's good about it as well, and how others handle the disorder rather than just the US mental system.

I am not demonizing your disorder but I am letting you know that I do not have your disorder although I do have psychosis that I am coming out of,  and that soon I will be able to heal disorders such as yours under the guidance of spirit

If you did have Schizophrenia, what would be wrong with that?

I mean it depends on what symptoms you are suffering such as in what ways is it taking away from your quality of life ?  once I am out of psychosis and I know the symptoms then I can ask spirit how to heal it
