I'm glad that I don't have to be so worried about what my friends see, I show or talk about this place even with random people and some non-SCers have even met a few SCers now. Most of their trouble with the place has been a lack of patience for learning enough lore to make sense of some of the stories here without prior context, but they seem to like the retellings at least.
Talking about the risks tends to have people be more like "That's the internet now".

This forum is not interesting enough in general for the people that can get over it, however. You need drama seekers and drama creators to create content. Then you can get the more normal interesting people and once they are involved and create social relations with others, you can expel the drama creators and the content will flow.
