Because if you told them you're a female cross dressing as a male, you could technically reverse the damage.

I have done a similar thing in reverse (not on 4chan though dear god why?), changing nothing about myself other than what sex I went with as the answer. Not video though that's begging to get caught. 

If they are willing to drop you as a friend because of your gender, screw those people they aren't really your friends.

 I was crossdressing as a male. I didn't tell them I was blackmailed because of my association with Chris chan.

 Yeah. But I have helped them with a lot over the years so we are still friends. I shouldn't have lied though. I was lonely. I have a rough time befriending females.
