Asking for anything at McDonalds though is probably a pretty safe bet to make, most of their food's like 90% the same anyway.

 I was running late today and didn't have time to pack lunch. Everything at McDonald's is pretty much the same and I didn't want anything in particular so it seemed like a fun way to get lunch.

I want to try this at a 5 star restaurant and see what I end up with

 A good server would choose something they think you'll like, but it's likelier you'll end up with one of the more expensive items.

She seemed surprised by my request.

"Really?"

"Yup. Whatever you think would be a good lunch."

"Are you feeling like burgers or chicken?"

"Anything. I'm not picky"

She was smiling ear to ear and punched something into the cash register.

"Do you want a drink and fries?"

"Sure."

 

Cashier seemed pleasantly surprised by my request. She rang me up for a smokey BLT quarter pounder with large fries and large drink. Not bad, and not something I ever would have ordered myself.

I didn't even know McD had a BLT so she certainly did surprise me.

 In my country they would not be able to understand what Im saying unless I say it in Paki, some niche african language or if I name a specific Item on the menue by the exact name (50% success chance). No seriously, only arabs and africans work jobs like this here in germany which tells me a lot about the state your country is in.
