I'd argue this is more a reflection of his former home life, having seen other men who had a near-absent father figure of an abusively misogynistic home. Every time he talks about his mother and father there's clearly issues there, his father was also an inner-emasculated pain fetishist who cheated on his wife repeatedly and showed her no respect, vanishing for long periods of time while the kids felt in charge. He acts like a child because that's when he got stuck, that and a disorder like ADD making it hard to chill. His dad had similar issues from a different mindset, a lot of this could very easily be parental modeling. Even in Tales of Wudan, his Monk roleplay, his father is essentially the grandmaster and his first lesson to him is pain, literally hitting him in the head so that he'd bleed and "appreciate his first pure thought".
She seemed fine with a camera showing this, and even tried to follow his instructions when nothing had happened yet. The two talked like they have an understanding that she gets 'disciplined' when not doing what he wants, and while a lot of people aren't into that some people are. There's also times that, in an otherwise working kink situation, that the partner with the power may take it somewhere bad. The question I more have is how often he'd be like that and what her feelings on it are, as even being reduced to crying on film is not an indication of consent, I've cried from kink and I would say I didn't suddenly forfeit consent, and that while sometimes my partners may have gone too far in the moment or as some kind of transference that I could see it was not otherwise the norm, and while not excusable in the smaller frame can be forgiven and worked past as a part of the bigger picture.

Very true, and some on the receiving end can end up accepting some pretty bad things from a lack of research on it too, from a lack of comparison to other partners, which is Tate's go to. He's also more than rich enough to pay them off, and at least the partner making the video all like "I consented guys, I said this already so stop" has me thinking she's seen his off camera sensitivity and uses it to excuse his outbursts, as it doesn't look like when someone just wants to put it behind them but rather as someone annoyed that people keep mixing it up and trying to defend her over it. She doesn't read like it's shame like abuse victims otherwise tend to flash when talking about it.
The predatory types who try to abuse the kink community are hard to sus out if their partners do not report it, and thankfully there are communities where they can post their stories to help others avoid a similar fate, but yeah I've seen some messy people try to make furry harems and abuse dens out of "it's just a fetish".
