Incidentally my brother just died by slipping on soap in the shower and falling backwards.
Really sorry for your loss Andrew,
Trying to be, and with age it seems easier.
Does it?
Even since I was a kid my goal was to just live comfortably and at peace, but otherwise right now I'm trying to keep those simple by following a rough routine.
I mostly just want to get better at basic things like food prep, take up martial arts again, find some new people maybe from within the hobbies I have now, and then once I have enough together again I can start questioning if it's worth finding a new partner or not, probably from a kink community this time around.
It's a drag, isn't it, though? Starting over. I guess it all depends on how you view it. I've been doing food prep as well; I've been doing this fruit mix with some rice and meat, but the last few days I've been too tired to do that.
So what martial art are you starting? Have you watched any of the latest Cobra Kai netflix series? It's pretty good for getting you fired up.

Yeah.

Only at first, but it's not like this is the first time.
Not putting any pressure on searching tends to have it come on it's own somewhat. Just being around people makes it easier to meet more people, and in time one of the randos it pushes out might become something. Even if not they serve as a point of inspiration to learn new things, where by myself I otherwise wouldn't likely see the point in it.

It's worse to not do it imo, even if it's done mindlessly, automatically, from turning it into a routine. Overtime the craft will get better, regardless of how exciting it is, and it tastes so much better than just eating components and is so much cheaper than buying that effort from others.
I've mostly been making my own fruit punch with fresh cut fruit lately. It's super easy and it's been good for getting natural sugars to replace candy. I'm otherwise keeping all the food prep super basic instead of complicating it to make it easier on myself at the start. Sharing what's been made tends to go fairly well too, so it's worth cultivating it.
So what martial art are you starting?
I plan on getting my old shit back first before considering other stuff. Each time I've had to retrain it it hasn't taken too long to get it back, stamina's the real problem that takes forever to work on.

It's less about being pumped and more about freedom of movement and confidence in knowing my limitations.
I otherwise have found motivation lately from the game Sifu, and Tekken's always been motivating over how their mocap hits the part of the brain that I used to stimulate from sparring.

I guess it can be nice to be free, too. Everything has a flipside.

Healthy food is really expensive though. I could probably spend 1/10th of what I spend if I was eating frozen pizzas, or even eating outside. Vegetables, especially, are really expensive. Avocados, etc.
I tend to cook for 3 days at a time and put everything in the fridge or a freezer. After this topic, I restarted my meal planning routine. Do you cook for taste or for health? I cook healthy food. There's no seasoning in my food. The tomato tastes like tomato, the fish tastes like fish, and the avocado tastes like avocado. My friends, especially those from Asia or Southern Europe, think I'm crazy. But I think I actually cook pretty decent stuff. Some onions mixed in with fish and vegetables is probably the best thing in this world.

Me too. Even now I have a 1kg box of pre-cut fruits in a basket in the fridge lol. Steel-cut Oatmeal is pretty good choice, too. It's really easy to cook (water + oatmeal + boil) but still keeps you awake for the entire day and is very healthy.

If you lose some weight your stamina goes up. How seriously do you train?

Sifu as in teacher? I'm very envious. I used to play video games all the time, but I somehow managed to escape my addiction when I was 20 after I sold my gaming computer. Now I'm afraid of going anywhere near a video game.

Healthy food is really expensive though.
From my more recent experiences it's been mostly meat that's been a struggle to buy (canned fish as an exception). Fruit and veggies are pretty cheap if you buy them whole rather than buying precut fruit salads or going organic. Breads, rice, and noodles aren't too costly either, and if you press the fruit yourself it both tastes better and saves a surprising amount of money. Even sauces are pretty cheap, whether basic like tomato sauce or specific like a Campbell's Condensed soup.

Hah, avacados? Avocados are a rich person/hipster meme and somehow still trending this far along depending on where you live (and barely resemble the original made from nature apparently).
Frozen pizza was a racket I was doing for a bit too to save money, but I wouldn't go as far as to say 1/10th. Past a point I got sick of it and the nutrient balances didn't feel too great in the long run. Even adding spices did nothing for it.
Just look online on a grocery website and try to arrange a cart. Most of what I've seen isn't too pricey, but if you're going for Jackfruit instead of Bananas then of course you're going to see a price spike. Don't get anything that took any more human labor than moving it around and the price tends to be on the more affordable side, otherwise try to pay attention to what is and isn't in season for sales.
I tend to cook for 3 days at a time and put everything in the fridge or a freezer.
It's the better way to be, allowing it to taste good while making the labor equate to something more practical than one night of food.
Do you cook for taste or for health?
Ideally both, but what started as being about health became more about flavor overtime.
Calorie counting and nutrient calculators were where most of this started for me, as well as trying to find ways to save money as a college student.

What's wrong with seasoning?

I've only been starting to realize how delicious onion grease is as I get older, but the texture of onion itself is still weird to me. It awakens a surprising amount of flavor.

My case is closer to needing more weight usually, not less. I lose weight too quickly to build muscle and go through my energy reserves too quickly, so I have to work twice as hard to gain any sense of longevity and lose it quickly when I stop.
Riding a bike helps for building it up to a point of jogging anyway, but I tend to just stick with the bike over a sense of impatience with the slow sense of movement.
It's less about being pumped and more about freedom of movement and confidence in knowing my limitations.

That's what the word means, but I mean the game from Sloclap, the developers behind Absolver:
I don't usually like games based around combat too much, but it does something different for me when it has real techniques in it, it satisfies something that isn't touched on by games like Devil May Cry, Dark Souls, or Street Fighter.
I'm very envious. I used to play video games all the time, but I somehow managed to escape my addiction when I was 20 after I sold my gaming computer. Now I'm afraid of going anywhere near a video game.
As long as you've found other things to do I don't really see the problem with that.
