Judge was intent on denying my bootcamp because she said ADHD doesn't constitute the crime I committed. She asked about my motive, why should she give me this chance, and generally trying to give me a hard time. I managed to smooth talk her for a few minutes and she approved me for the program. It's amazing how well I perform under pressure.

Something doesn't add up here.

It's a disorder of attention deficit. They don't contradict each other in any way.

The "H" tends to make things less-than-smooth.

Eh no. In adults the H aspect internalizes and manifests as hyperfocus, impulsivity, and aggression. The condition is usually comorbid in people with aspd/psychopathy as they share many traits. When I hyperfocus, I tune everything else out and perform better than others who don't have that advantage.

The fidgety hyperactive kid grows up and learns somewhat control his energy and the effects are masked. Kids with both cd and adhd are at the greatest risk for developing aspd as adults a lot more than kids with either conditions alone.

It makes the talking faster and thinking more scattered but that can still work. People are easy. If someone has charisma how factually convincing they are doesn't matter. Fast but fluid speech has often been used by con artists of many kinds. It works.

You also have to take into account the kind of ADHD and the severity. Some kids have it so bad they get thrown in psych wards to help them deal with it.

There's ADHD primarily inattentive, hyperactive/impulsive, and combined type. I was diagnosed with the latter. I don't have racing thoughts or talk at the speed of light. You guys have heard me in vc. I met the requirements of the H because of impulsivity issues, not only for my propensity to get into trouble but also at times saying what comes to mind without thinking and interrupting people because a thought entered my mind and I can't wait to talk about it.

I think the people who have mild or even moderate ADHD don't even have it. It's so rampantly overdiagnosed.

If the impulsivity issues are the only reason you were given ADHD instead of ADD that could very easily be a misdiagnosis. You'd obviously be prone to impulsivity from other factors given your history and your other diagnoses. Things which could actually explain inattentiveness as well. Do you think you're ADD/ADHD?

Do you think you're ADD/ADHD?

Not entirely sure. As a kid I was classic hyperactive. It was so bad I was diagnosed with hyperactivity at 5 and put on mood stabilizers. I wasn't just hyper though, I had conduct issues.

I'm not sure what the criteria for hyperactivity is. As an adult I become restless if I have to sit down. I get the urge to stand up and do something else. If I can't my legs will twitch non stop. I always need to be doing something stimulating. I should point out during my teens I made a considerable effort in slowing down my movement and speech pattern.

I'd say my innatentiveness is severe, I actually spaced out about 5 times writing this. Hyperactivity I'd say is moderate.

However, no psych or therapist has ever concluded I have ADHD unless I told them. Only reason I was diagnosed is because I took a battery of tests for it specifically.

Mfw you take everything on the internet at face value. You might really have autism Ken. Doesn't matter how long it took you bud, you found it important enough to post.

Attention Deficit Hyperfocus Disorder

Hyperfocus is a symptom of the disorder: https://www.additude.com/understanding-adhd-hyperfocus/

Research things before attempting to mock.
