You really ought to read The Bible, rather than have this be like every other guy you liked where you don't end up knowing anything about their work or their opinions.
Every person who has read The Bible knows that much more about Christianity than you do. It's why even I can school you in it as an advocate for the devil, which ought to inspire you to read the thing so you can speak it's language.
Seriously if you actually knew the material we could have real discussions on it, but instead it's always me having to quote the stuff you got wrong while you then lean on a cherry picked internet interpretation to do the arguing for you.
If not that you just block out the discussion entirely as you descend into egoism, then later say you learned more Bible stuff 'from Jesus' when you end up just repeating what I'd already told you.
do not even try to come for me at cherry picking though, you are much more guilty of that than I, and I think that I do a pretty good job at avoiding cherry picking and correcting any of it that I might accidentally do
I am very against cherry picking, and I would say that researching is one of my strengths so while knowing the source material by heart would definitely give me an advantage for sure, I still have been able to find out a lot just through various duckduckgo searches
the reason why I am supposed to be reading the bible is not just for educational purposes though, it is supposed to have transforming and healing and sanctifying powers just from reading it
lol I am well aware but I have always found myself more interesting than any man :p I am trying though, for Jesus............ at least I am trying
Rather than looking at it as one giant book, it helps to give yourself page quotas to go through, like saying you have to read 10 pages a day or something until you're through the entire thing. "Slow and steady wins the race."
You also could look up other mediums of it, like Poppy reading it for example:
do not even try to come for me at cherry picking though, you are much more guilty of that than I, and I think that I do a pretty good job at avoiding cherry picking and correcting any of it that I might accidentally do
You literally search through multiple websites to find even a sliver of your ideas, then block out people for like two or three days.
Following that you search that website for a bit, feeling good that it gave you an answer, but you struggle to actually discuss your findings with people over how you don't really listen to them past a point when you feel contradicted.
If I can be accused of anything, it's reinterpretation. I take what's there to question the works and the authors rather than just accepting the texts themselves, leading to more of a meta-commentary on the work with the room to question if it were the case for it's ramifications. Rather than taking the texts plainly I try to figure why the texts are there, what they're trying to make me think, so that it can be questioned for what's missing or glossed over.
anyway we need to agree to disagree I do not think that I have ever really cherry picked or contradicted myself regarding the scriptures that seems much more of a you thing
Why would we need to agree to disagree?
