my family is upper middle class Ig,  Idk where would you suggest  motels are often dirty and sometimes have bedbugs and stuff  are motels really even that much cheaper

airbnbs vary in price  you can rent an entire house or a room,  with various amenities and so on

my mother is actually going in debt because of me tbh because I cannot live with family because I want to be in a walking town because I do not want to own a car because I think that cars are immoral and also driving exacerbates my anxiety and I do not even have a license anymore and none of them live in one

I feel bad but idk what to do  :/  I am not really willing to compromise because I would seriously rather live in homeless shelters than with family members because a lot of my family are bad influences and live worldly lifestyles and are not really putting following after Jesus first like I am trying to do in my own life,  they profess to be Christians mostly in name only and such

How long do you plan to stay in one though?

Motel 6 so far hasn't had any bedbugs for me, but day-to-day rent costs add up quickly no matter where you go. On SSI it's not really a long term solution, and past a point it'll be a challenge for your folks to keep up the costs right?

Oh jeez.

because I cannot live with family because I want to be in a walking town because I do not want to own a car because I think that cars are immoral and also driving exacerbates my anxiety and I do not even have a license anymore and none of them live in one

You could do like I do and ride a bike.

Also jeez, you would take homelessness up as an option just to remain in a 'walking town'?

I feel bad but idk what to do  :/

What could be done that would lower costs for your poor in debt mother?

I am not really willing to compromise because I would seriously rather live in homeless shelters than with family members because a lot of my family are bad influences and live worldly lifestyles and are not really putting following after Jesus first like I am trying to do in my own life,  they profess to be Christians mostly in name only and such

You said your dad left, so it's just your mother right now right?

What's wrong with living with her, especially if she's the one already fronting all your expenses to her own detriment? Staying with her would save money.

Here's how I see what you've presented:

o You are willing to be homeless, rather than live with your mother.

o Your mother is fronting an extraordinary bill so that you won't be penniless.

From the above, I'm left to assume that she is liable to keep throwing money at you until both you and her don't have any more. If she is paying for an AirBnB for you then I imagine that she doesn't want you to be homeless, and you lack the willpower to turn down her charity while otherwise making excuses to not help her.

Do you feel entitled to your mother's money, or are you simply unable to turn it away as your compulsions then go out of control?

Pride cometh before the fall, as she doesn't want to go home.

It's better for the Mother to cut her loose, her retirement is being destroyed.

Have you ever seen the movie "grave of the fireflies"?

It's about a 12-year-old boy and his 5-year-old little sister, who is too oblivious to the horrors of war to understand that his brother is struggling to support her. Their mother dies and they end up homeless, but find shelter at their aunt's. After the aunt is harsh to them, the brother decides to leave so that they can live by themselves. In a later scene, the little boy is asking for food for his little sister, who is starving, and there's a farmer that advises him to swallow his pride and go back to his aunt. By the time the boy gets more food, his little sister is already dying and hallucinating that some of the stones she has are rice rolls. She passes away the next day. It's a hauntingly beautiful movie.

Are you proud?

lol that would never happen,  I just need to stop ordering grubhub so often on her dollar the holy spirit convicted me of that yesterday  🤭  luckily my appetite has been decreasing so that is good

what if like she would not be in debt at all if I did not order grubhub at all since April 2021 when I became a born again Christian  :p  I just thought about this yesterday looooooooooool

I probably ordered grubhub on average two times a week  what does that add up to ?  average total being ~$30

Ordering out also adds up, SSI even asks if you do that or go for groceries.

Every little bit adds up, and if the amount SSI sends each month isn't enough then you need to consider living more frugally.

There'd still be rent costs and other spending habits you might have.
