The strategies are designed for something more neurotypical.
Honestly you're lucky, I sit here just affected enough by it to remark on it being disturbing.

This isn't even his most pushy work, he has one where he does heavy strobe lights while being like an inch from the camera while repeating the phrase "TAKE IT, TAKE IT, TAKE IT", then tries to have the song return to normal like nothing happened.
He does like throwing people with verbal contradiction and directional language, like having 'Up' and 'Down' in the same sentence in spite it being over two unrelated things.

Just like Michael Jackson, their body of work should be taken separately from who they are as a person.
His work with Poppy versus the work on his own channel he ran as a social experiment. His aim was to make his own content as unappealing as possible while making hers as appealing as possible by having the techniques used on her content be the exact opposite of his.
He'll put pleasant binaural tones behind her and have her say very empty stuff, and it drew in a huge crowd. On his own channel he used binaural tones and other strategies to sound unpleasant and uncomfortable, and it made it harder to get through some of his work (as intended). He even made a shop site for both channels and had the one for Poppy have a noticeably higher shipping cost than his own as a subtle 'fuck you' to his own audience.
As an artist at least, his work is meant to protest against industry strategies that control people's behaviors, the very same thing you're sitting here finding creepy about large bodies of people all following the same sway over.

i dont like music to affect what im feeling, it wont anyway
Most people like feeling steered by music, it feels good, like if you had a really bad day and then your favorite song picks you up, but the designers at the helm of some companies are using this as a means of suggestion.
