Ew,  rewarding depression with food is the worst way to possibly handle depression

The boost in energy might help, depending on the cause of the downed state.

Just, y'know, don't eat too much.

Instead look inwards,  comfort the parts of you that are depressed,  welcome them,  acknowledge them,  treat them with compassion,  and listen to what your emotions are telling you and then find a solution on how to make things better  absolutely do not distract with food and nother short-term numbing "bandaid" fixes especially not long-term because it does not resolve anything

rewarding depression is toxic,  and so is avoiding what your emotions are telling you and not processing them in a healthy compassionate welcoming way

sounds like you need a cookie

 its a cookie.

sometimes people just want kindness.

sometimes we all need a little nudge or a kind thought so we remember we matter.

the cookie is for that inner child in all of us that was hurt

its a way of looking at that child in you that has been hurt, saying i see you, and offering kindness.

i see you.

i see you emily.

hi.

although i definitely developed disordered eating from my mom giving me sweats as "apologies" when i was a kid, depriving yourself from food seems to also reinforce the binge cycle.

i would like a cookie

avoiding/ not processing emotions is definitely toxic though, but i think you can eat the cookie and process your emotions if you are mindful about it.

im bored
