Artificial Art

"Every single image in this video was created by the AI called DALL·E 2 from OpenAI from just one initial text prompt “A bad photo”

The first photo of the blurry hand is the "bad photo" it came up with.

From there all I did was request variations, and choose the variant I liked the most, then ask more more variants, repeat. I never gave it any more text prompts. I would subtly try to “guide” it toward aesthetics I like. I also tried to pick variants that I thought would change things.

I'm really shocked by the vast range of styles and aesthetics it's capable of. Especially without any explicit direction. Some of the images are ugly but I love many of these, I wish I had made them."

Very cool.

There's an old thread of an AI portrait maker that takes a text prompt. And another thread that focused on the Wombo AI art maker. I've also been hearing about an interesting chat bot that uses GPT-2, but I'll have to get back to that later.

Ohgod thank you I could not remember the name 'Wombo' for the life of me.

This program ate up quite a lot of my time.

I've been messing with the new openAI chat bot and its pretty impressive.

Its decent at producing wiki pages.

It doesn't seem capable of actually explaining these topics technically but this is a decent summary, eli5 level .

I was in a server with others playing with this using questions form logic and philosophy, it shows a similar level of comprehension.

It can do Differential Equations at a an undergraduate level,

These are both correct which is really impressive. It gives the latex representation of them as well as a basic explanation, you can use this to cheat on homework.

It can do basic physics problems, however despite getting the set up correctly it computes the value wrong,

I did this with several basic physics word problems and it almost always gets them wrong despite the fact that it also almost always nails the set up.

It can write basic programs,

Looks like the Dall-E people go by Craiyon now.

While it may not be up to snuff with some AI texters, it's been fun before:

InferKit

It did produce some interesting stuff:

Thrall to the Wire of Self-Excited Circuit.

This thing is decent at generating functional code, both of these are correct in the sense they achieve the desired outcome.

I made multiple attempts to make it produce a gaussian elimination algo but it always quits before finishing. What it does produce seems okay though.

It can debug a program, give you a solution, and explain that solution based on your explanation of the problem and the source code. This was not a compiler error, this is a program that can run but does not give the desired output so its a bit more of an abstract problem to fix.
