This is seemingly a common position on the forum by older heads. It became about occasionally keeping tabs on the regular members. I think the reason Luna SC was more extreme was that she went out of her way to make sure the place was generating something to keep the dynamics fresh. In that sense she pushed the forum in different ways like a puppet master with the goal of making it interesting and fueling forum use. She had fun with it for awhile then got bored of her own creation and dropped it.
SC was eccentric in interesting ways, for real. It was a genuine psychological study. Those who learned to enjoy themselves in such a place found peace in chaos, which I think is good cause the world is chaotic.

Their humour was intelligent, with a beautiful bite.
People actually gave some thought to what they were posting.
Now it's the same boring script over and over.
It's like watching some old episode of SNL starring Steve Martin like 8000 times.
It's memes and scripts, but a lot of the jokes are about the reaction it elicits while not yielding their own weaknesses. They're afraid, which is in itself a reflection of both this site's history and the state of the time period.
People are too afraid to bare themselves now, so they're attempting to layer in irony and stoicism. Which they subscribe to though yields subtext, but I can understand being too lazy to keep up with back-to-back referencing.

This place was full of cool people when I first joined and they all liked me, after barely any convincing because they were smart. Now it’s filled with haters and is lame, so I don’t know how people think that things don’t change.

Dude, no. I only hit one person who didn’t hit me first and he didn’t press charges because he’s nice. And I was drunk and I don’t drink anymore.
