I love the packaging, I'm curious to *try* the tint
But I binge watched as many reviews as I could withstand to see what's the tea, and it looks like everyone hates the concealer because it dries down too fast and results in patchyness when you try to blend, and can be a bit drying.
I think it *looked* good "on camera" because it was so brightening it really packed a punch, and that is Jaclyn's style of makeup. I understand her vision for her products and I'm really impressed that she is pursuing that goal and bringing to the table what she does best and what aligns with *her*
I see the artistic vision behind these products and to me they are always unique and stand out from the crowd, it's unfortunate she had a lip stick disaster that was just honestly a mistake. Being new at running a business, I can understand.
And, as a brand not everyone is going to love every product you make. For instance some people hate the Fenty foundation and to me, I put it on the top shelf best foundation I've ever tried for my skin.
That's why I'm always so curious to try products out, because it really largely differs what I will like and if I see something of value in the product that is unique and presents as something I align with, I usually am at least curious to try it.
In this case, I'm a little weary that it will be dry, and not full coverage enough. The finish on camera is beautiful, hopefully there will be something in my shade as there is only 12 shades.
I'm really not understanding the concealer issue though, like, where did things go wrong, what the issue exactly is. How did this happen where something is released and it's being this poorly received you know, what is the problem. I don't, understand but. For that reason I'm curious about different application techniques, and possibly using a bit of something else with it like setting spray or using it as a mixing medium, perhaps with the tint, perhaps with a layer of moisture oil primer sunscreen underneath it works better, and needs a very emollient sponge damp with setting spray. I'm just not understanding why it doesn't blend and how it's possible it's so dry and drying down so fast.
Once it is set with powder I think it *looks* nice but the way the product *feels* is something that seems to be throwing off the reviewers more than anything, because Jaclyn's products are sort of "from scratch" they're very unique and not what people are used to, and foundation and concealer is one of those things people just have an expectation what they're used to and what's common.
I think it's good to be a bit different and try unique ideas and new things in makeup, and for that reason Jaclyn's always been an innovator and brilliant entrepreneur, with a lot of creative ability and talent in makeup and marketing. It's no doubt this is where she belongs.
I just hope to see her brand align with how excellent and talented she is, and I think being someone who makes an excellent brand is in itself a completely different skill set and wheel house, and a talent, an art form. That she just is new at and, is treading through trying to set herself apart and make leaps and bounds as thats sort of her angle, but... while its a huge joy to be able and just, do what *you want* I think it's also important to do whats best for the business.
I think her uniqueness and willingess to be different in makeup products, is both a huge advantage for her and her brand, and in this case with the concealer as we are seeing, simultaneously can be a disadvantage at times. And finding the fine line between, what will people find acceptable, what's different while still being palettable and having the right timing, reaching the right markets and consumers, etc, being well recieved. That's, a difficult game to play and really fine line to walk on.
I would honestly, the first thing I thought is, expecting a re-formulation or basically a more moisturizing more blendable formula, and I'd be really happy to see that as I think with that added to it, this concealer would be a huge success as it truly has "shape tape" potential at going more viral.
I'm also really eager to see an actual foundation come out, and I'm thinking the skin tint is just a teaser.
Hopefully I can get a little sample of the tint from Sephora and can try it out for a little while and give my actual thoughts. All her products have a common theme of brightening and glowing that just, reminds me of dior and chanel model vibes so it's something that really excites me and it's an area I think she knows she is talented at bringing formulation wise. It's Jaclyn's iconic glow and glass skin. And if she can bring that in a bottle, that's, brilliant.
