Makeup News & Reviews (All That Content baby Content!)

Oh baby, set your reminder for 11AM EST to watch the reveal of some new Holo Taco shades <3

Can't wait to see what Christine brings us little glitter minions, and I will be sharing my thoughts on the new babies once they are revealed to us. I am excited.

Doing my nails is one of my satisfying joys in life, some people could not care less about nails but, I have gotten into it ever since the pandemic [wanting to avoid nail salons, sorry!], and I'm slowly sort of falling in love with it just as much as I have with makeup. #NailGang 💅✨🎀💖

*resists the urge to buy the heart shaped coach bag or the heart shaped kate spade bag everyone is buying on instagram right now and showing on their feed*

If you follow girly instagram or "pink" instagram then you've probably seen this bag floating around about a dozen times. I've always wanted it, but de-prioritized it for obvious reasons. It's a seasonal purchase.

But that being said, if you must, I highly recommend going to Tradesy.com or a second hand merchant, with an extensive authentication process, online or locally. As I've seen both of these bags on there for a cheaper price.

Second hand merchants are the bees knees, especially for those higher end items, you end up saving thousands.

What are your fave second hand merchant online shops?

Winter Shimmers Holo Taco launch:

Posted Image

My faves are Polar Princess and Laven-duh.

I wish this collection would have launched in December though because Shady Navy color is the exact color I wanted to wear on New Years, it was just the vibe I was feeling. And then the toppers went with the holiday trend nails on instagram which had a pink and blue theme. They would of gone perfect.

Regardless, still going to need this box for nail art purposes going forward, I can see all of these getting a lot of use and being very practical for nail art going forward for 2022. The convenience is that they all really pack a punch, and so it makes a huge difference when working with this sort of product vs. something that requires more building for nail art purposes- especially with the cremes not having to go over lines or french tips or anything like that. And then the final look, the shimmer or the holo reflect really packs the ideal punch you want it to.

Love this brand, always looking forward to seeing more from Holo Taco, and it's always very fun and inspiring. Yay.

Which Holo Taco shades are your faves from the Winter Shimmers collection, what did you think of this launch? I was pleasantly surprised, especially with Polar Princess! A must have for pink lovers...Ciao! 💅✨

PS What are you wearing for Valentines nails?? Any nail art inspo so far you're into this month? Post it up!

I love the packaging, I'm curious to *try* the tint

But I binge watched as many reviews as I could withstand to see what's the tea, and it looks like everyone hates the concealer because it dries down too fast and results in patchyness when you try to blend, and can be a bit drying.

I think it *looked* good "on camera" because it was so brightening it really packed a punch, and that is Jaclyn's style of makeup. I understand her vision for her products and I'm really impressed that she is pursuing that goal and bringing to the table what she does best and what aligns with *her*

I see the artistic vision behind these products and to me they are always unique and stand out from the crowd, it's unfortunate she had a lip stick disaster that was just honestly a mistake. Being new at running a business, I can understand.

And, as a brand not everyone is going to love every product you make. For instance some people hate the Fenty foundation and to me, I put it on the top shelf best foundation I've ever tried for my skin.

That's why I'm always so curious to try products out, because it really largely differs what I will like and if I see something of value in the product that is unique and presents as something I align with, I usually am at least curious to try it.

In this case, I'm a little weary that it will be dry, and not full coverage enough. The finish on camera is beautiful, hopefully there will be something in my shade as there is only 12 shades.

I'm really not understanding the concealer issue though, like, where did things go wrong, what the issue exactly is. How did this happen where something is released and it's being this poorly received you know, what is the problem. I don't, understand but. For that reason I'm curious about different application techniques, and possibly using a bit of something else with it like setting spray or using it as a mixing medium, perhaps with the tint, perhaps with a layer of moisture oil primer sunscreen underneath it works better, and needs a very emollient sponge damp with setting spray. I'm just not understanding why it doesn't blend and how it's possible it's so dry and drying down so fast.

Once it is set with powder I think it *looks* nice but the way the product *feels* is something that seems to be throwing off the reviewers more than anything, because Jaclyn's products are sort of "from scratch" they're very unique and not what people are used to, and foundation and concealer is one of those things people just have an expectation what they're used to and what's common.

I think it's good to be a bit different and try unique ideas and new things in makeup, and for that reason Jaclyn's always been an innovator and brilliant entrepreneur, with a lot of creative ability and talent in makeup and marketing. It's no doubt this is where she belongs.

I just hope to see her brand align with how excellent and talented she is, and I think being someone who makes an excellent brand is in itself a completely different skill set and wheel house, and a talent, an art form. That she just is new at and, is treading through trying to set herself apart and make leaps and bounds as thats sort of her angle, but... while its a huge joy to be able and just, do what *you want* I think it's also important to do whats best for the business.

I think her uniqueness and willingess to be different in makeup products, is both a huge advantage for her and her brand, and in this case with the concealer as we are seeing, simultaneously can be a disadvantage at times. And finding the fine line between, what will people find acceptable, what's different while still being palettable and having the right timing, reaching the right markets and consumers, etc, being well recieved. That's, a difficult game to play and really fine line to walk on.

I would honestly, the first thing I thought is, expecting a re-formulation or basically a more moisturizing more blendable formula, and I'd be really happy to see that as I think with that added to it, this concealer would be a huge success as it truly has "shape tape" potential at going more viral.

I'm also really eager to see an actual foundation come out, and I'm thinking the skin tint is just a teaser.

Hopefully I can get a little sample of the tint from Sephora and can try it out for a little while and give my actual thoughts. All her products have a common theme of brightening and glowing that just, reminds me of dior and chanel model vibes so it's something that really excites me and it's an area I think she knows she is talented at bringing formulation wise. It's Jaclyn's iconic glow and glass skin. And if she can bring that in a bottle, that's, brilliant.

Had an interesting idea to do makeup collections based on really famous high end hand bags and each collection is designed to fit perfectly into the luxury bag and "matches" it and its aesthetics. And it comes in a type of packaging that will allow you to store the makeup in the bag without taking up too much room or risking ruining the bag. And the whole point of the entire collection is essentially to be really good packaging that doesn't come loose or leak and less "hassle" as possible to deal with when you're "on the go." Could even do like, a summer collection for vacation purposes, and various themes to match really popular bag leathers.

Some people are really into their handbags, and collect Chanel or Hermes etc, so I could see this being sort of marketable and a lot of 'fun' if it's pulled off with enough creativity, interest, and research.

It would be something innovative and if it were successful enough, I could see the brand collaborating with high end brands like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermes to create "matching" leathers and stitching on the products. It could result in the opportunity of a life time.

There's a lot of internal back storage devices designed for these sort of bags, custom fitted to fit these certain measurements etc. But they're always a bit lackluster, boring, ugly, and bring down the level of luxury feel to the bag. I think there is a way to make it more exciting while incorporating things that the consumer already loves, like perfume, makeup, charms, jewelry, and other stow away opportunities for conveniences... phone chargers, etc.

Being extremely easy to handle and convenient to use while not removing any of that luxury feel but rather adding to it like an accessory and incorporating large parts of their life that they enjoy and find fun or bring them, necessity.

I didn't think of this idea because of this video but, this is a good example of what I'm talking about:

@5:55

this girl is hillarious, when you understand that she's doing all of it to be a character or a meme for the sake of internet sensionalism you will understand her art and her genius lol its, comedic gold

lol after @31:51 I'm laughing so hard *spazzes out* "UGH SEE WHAT I MEAN, IT'S JUST- IT'S NOT LIKE FRIEND- FRIENDLY OR WHATEVER"

and then she's saying the chanel bag looks like it's 2 dollars, *flings bag around in the air for no reason* "LIKE, I DON'T CARE LIKE, I KNOW ITS A LIKE APEACE OF SHIT"  I'm wheezing

okay so I’m trying her drink, it’s super simple but when J saw it I was like “I have to try this” so

i Tried matcha because of YouTube and didn’t like it

tried celery juice and actually loved it but it was mixed with some other flavors from fruit but still, surprisingly was really bangin

I love trying drinks so if you have recommendations for me I will legitimately try it.

Whenever I see anyone post recipes of their fave drink order from Starbucks or dunkin I will screen shot it and go order it lol

Also want to try moon milk

Cutest brand ever, Laneige

Their lip sleeping mask and other skin care products (especially the night sleeping face moisturizer!!) are literally my top faves, staple must have like basic, just. You need it.

The reason I'm talking about this lip mask though, (my favorite scent is Sweet Candy btw) is because, why aren't they flavored at this point? I sincerely want to know why.

We have flavored lip scrubs, which is disgusting, please don't eat the lip scrub but, inevitably, we know lip products sometimes, you might get a slight residual taste on your lips from them and it's nice after a lip scrub and lip mask to have a flavor there.

I'm just saying, I want flavored lip masks, I don't care at this point, if there is some scientific reason why they can't be because it messes up the formula and its effectiveness okay fine but like, don't play me with that amazing sweet scent and then it tastes like you bit into a a plain wax candle in catholic church or something.

I'm not complaining like its not terrible or off putting, I literally love this lip mask.

I'm just talking about lip masks in general like, it occured to me, why aren't they flavored? Where are the flavored lip masks. Show me the way. Link me. Hit me up.

We stan a flavored lip product. All lip products should taste good, or at least have a mint option. some people hate mint, I love mint, why do all lip products taste like shit?

Let's fix this. Makeup at this point is for pure enjoyment for the most part so, why is the one product you can actually taste, not including that part of the experience to their advantage?

We have elf over here doing literal cart wheels giving us cookies and cream scented eyeshadow. If too faced lip products tasted good they would sell out in seconds.

If these lip masks had a taste, they'd sell out. They'd literally all be gone.

It happens with the flavored lip scrubs, people love sugar, lets be honest. And though many people might logically think, "well, that's stupid, who cares?" the marketing research literally shows, enough, reason to do it.

If they made laneige lip masks flavored they'd probably double their sales volume at minimum, and they're already an extremely sensationalized and popular product, so to ride that wave and continue sensationalizing and staying relevant, if they added flavors, everyone would be talking about it.

Okay I'm not a skin care expert by any means LMFAO but, while we're on the topic of skin are, this is just something I've loved for years as well, it's just another hard core staple and I'm sad without it.

Originally went for the Mario Badescue rose water tonic but unfortunately I am allergic as fuck which is disappointing because it smells so great and I love their products.

So I went searching for something else along a similar line and found this, is much more mild and tones the skin down, takes out the redness and gives it radiance, just evens out the tones of the skin (which is what toner does lol). But, the inclusion of hyalauronic acid makes it more beneficial than just any other toner, it already has really nice ingredients.

Of course I love the way it feels and smells, but this is boujee as fuck so there is a more affordable option in the picture above if you want a similar experience but don't feel like blowing that amount on a toner.

Like, Pixie for examle, I love those products and they really do work, you don't need to spend at this price tag to have a good skin care routine, don't be extra.

But yeah, I love this particular toner and whenever I'm out I find myself picking up another I'm like "nah I won't buy another one its expensive" but then I'm doing my skin care and I'm like "damn, wish. Ihad that toner still" because its GOOD okay.

I like it, I like the results, its great. There is a travel size you can buy at sephora to try it for less.

My reason for posting this was I was going to complain about the fact my favorite toner doesn't come in a spray bottle but then I googled it and low and behold, as you can see in the white bottle, they have a spray option. *face palm* I guess I just didn't notice it in the store all this time? I don't know whats wrong with me but yeah.

Toners are really hard to apply so I recommend getting the spray bottle, that's really all I wanted to say. Toners should always have both options.
