Tarot's bullshit though, the instructions literally say that vibing with the cards is 'stronger' than following the system.
Seriously, I considered taking it up in case I ever needed quick cash and the guides were super disappointing. Just watch some Emily Halifax and you'll see the problems in a hurry:
Ugh she doesn't allow embeds, she's so paranoid now. Here's a direct link. And yet this particular reading sussed out this person right away and they were forced to admit to it, they wouldn't even have told me what was going on until i brought up the reading.
Some people do be doin good.
Sounds more like a super fragile enabling, Tarot literally tells you when you learn it to bullshit people, to just feel the room.
This is why a lot of Tarot readers get into Astrology by the way: It gives their Cold Readings a little more polish from utilizing an otherwise speculatively legitimate system of patterns. Drawing cards isn't any different from rolling dice, and barely apart from looking at bones for readings.I'm usually really skeptical of this shit. The initial reading was done by a friend without my permission and stated something way too specific. Going back in memory and in texts to see if they were building off something i said found nothing.
When they finally had my permission to continue they stated something that wasn't at all vague or cold reading. I've had tarot readings in the past, forced by my mother. I know what cold read vague bullshit is. This wasn't it.
Okay... so instead it was a friend who knows you well enough to do more educated guesses.
Seriously, look into Tarot. Once you learn how to do it you have to be pretty far gone to still believe in it, unlike a lot of other systems.Nah, they don't know me well enough to have known i was planning to meet someone from here.
With the exception of Sugar, you guys are embarrassing. i would never admit to knowing any of you much less admit to meeting any of you. And it wasn't so much anything about me, but rather the person i was meeting. And i know for a fact they didn't know this person at all.
I've looked into tarot, like i said my mom would force this and it was all bullshit and we got our ass beat because the person doing the reading would claim some off the wall shit. She knew exactly what my mom wanted and kept her hooked.
I think maybe it's easier to answer that while i don't believe in tarot, i believe this particular person might be more intense with stuff.
did u ever cut the bitch giving the readings. bruh lets find her today and give her a dragonkick

You might yield more about yourself in your face and actions than you think. I'm at least prone to saying that from seeing that apply to most people across the board, people show a surprising amount of themselves without meaning to while also meaning to in other ways in tandem, it's bizarre how much people struggle to keep things to themselves.

I guess that's some of how we're different, I've met enough people here to count on my hands and haven't found it embarrassing to talk about this place with people. This place is a pretty nice ice breaker for conversations honestly, and with this much history there's tons to talk about.
A lot of people are members of communities, and many of them aren't named in a way that directly reflects it's community. By the end of it it tends to just be a discussion about human nature and the internet, usually with a splash of memes and some in-passing case studies that don't need names.I've looked into tarot, like i said my mom would force this and it was all bullshit and we got our ass beat because the person doing the reading would claim some off the wall shit. So when it fits what you wanted to hear it's legit?
No, i just said it wasn't a case of cold reading. It wasn't vague bullshit. Its why my first instinct was to see if I had told her anything about this place, nothing in texts and nothing in memory.
I believe in this one reading and this one person, i do not believe in tarot.
What's your basis for this belief then if it's not through the tarot? It was a tarot reading and your only confirmation of such power is over you confirming something to yourself you'd already wanted to believe and the card reader's supposed intensity or whatever.
And again it wasn't mentioned i was on a forum, it was about the individual themself that i was going to go meet that she had no knowledge of. She just did a reading without my permission and informed me.
I'm starting to think that you think people don't know you as well as you think they do... Seriously, people give a lot away.
The fact that it comes from your friend as well also draws even more suspicion over it. At least with Astrology it'll be the same results no matter who's looking it over, this by contrast is you letting another person steer your life over the things you want to hear, further confirming it through contextual clues after the fact to further legitimize it.
This phenomenon risks people joining cults btw.🤷🏾♀️ That's it.
It's not really a 'That's it' if it's enough to cause you reason to believe in it, you're normally a skeptic.
This is like if I took up cloud reading and expected you to take it seriously, it's concerning when people take up any form of Magic that doesn't have a strict, rigorous system behind it. This falls under the Intuitive Arts, aka bullshit cold reading and random guesswork with vague enough words to allow it to apply to most things, if not the person playing on what they already know about you (hence it working well with cold reading strats like Astrology in the first place).Stay annoyed cos i don't believe ur lil fish signs tho 😎
I prefer to have what I'm doing have the repetitious rigor we've grown to expect out of other speculative fields like Psychology. Without a consistency basis that can be done even by the random layman it doesn't really mean anything (beyond whatever other mechanisms were going on, like cold reading you... or Hot Reading potentially?).
translation: the person who convinced u not to meet one of the freaks from here was WRANG, u should rethink the idea of meeting ppl from this freakshow, namely me and my sloppy gf

That's a shame, I'd meet quite a few people here tbh. Not all tho, like Jim, who I can meet every weekend if I wanted to lol.

You live in romania?
@ TC you probably read wrong books. Tarot is an initiatory system and was used in all magical lodges. The way they utilized it was experiential and it had a strong connection to kabbalah and astrology. There was an adonist lodge in Germany for example and also the golden dawn used it. The way it is practiced there is as a path to supposed God hood. Of course that's bull shit but it is also not plain or simple.

Tarot is effective as an art, not for what it promises but for how it affects people. It's effective at drawing in people and keeping them there but it does not qualify as a legitimate form of divination.
It's like how cults are effective, or how superstitions can form. The art of the cards also works as a flavorful misdirection that assists in making their message feel that much more impartial.
