who tf asks permission to have a cat
who tf asks permission to have a cat
Somebody whose landlord can throw them out of their home for having one.
Don't tryta tell me you own your own home in the UK on a call centre operator's salary lol
never in my life have i ever asked permission to have my cat. the only thing i needed to ensure was that she had a garden or balcony and many windows with traffic to keep her entertained when im not around.
is anyone showing up to my house unannounced? no...that's the whole point of you paying rent, that for the time you have paid for, that property belongs to you. my cat hides anytime strangers come to the house anyway so its all good
also xena can i just say, if i was working at a call centre i would been promoted about 5 times by now. never once have i stayed at the position i started in for more than 6 months lol
You are way too cocky.
Landlords can and do put "no pets" clauses in leases all the time. And they can and do evict tenants for disobeying clauses in leases. All the time.
So again. I don't have my cats anymore bc my landlord doesn't allow pets.
When I first moved here 8 years ago, the rent was on the low side of average at $795/ month. My rent has only increased by $100 in all the years I've been here bc of Canadian rent laws. Other apartments in this building are going for $1600/month, now. And other similar apartments in this neighbourhood can run upwards of $2000/month. That's not even for anything fancy. Just a basic 2 bedroom apartment with no bugs and little to no noise and no issues with crime or drugs in the neighbourhood.
So yeah, I choose my battles with my landlord. I don't feel like fighting the courts to have a cat right now, or risking an eviction now that rents everywhere in this country have doubled and tripled, thx.
Is it Xena's fault that she does not have her own place, or is it USA or Canada's economical state, I forgot where she is from?
Wtf?
I just said I've had my own 2 bedroom apartment in an ok neighbourhood for 8 years.
I pay $895/ month for it.
I rent from a landlord.
He owns a building with 10 other 2 bedroom apartments and one one bedroom apartment inside.
3 other people who have been here longer than I have pay less rent than I do.
The lady in the one bedroom apartment pays the same.
Our newest tenant who moved in May 1st of this year pays $1600/ month.
There are laws in place here to keep landlords from inflating rents on tenants who are already paying rent to protect them from getting gouged when markets change and prices increase rapidly. I have been benefitting from those laws for the last 7 years.
I don't want to make an issue of the "no pets" clause in my lease bc that might cost me my place.
Note: The words "could" and 'might" denote situations that have not yet happened and are still preventable.
I don't have my cats anymore bc this landlord does not want pets in his building.
And I don't want to move out bc the next landlord will charge me more than double for the same apartment I have now.
I know they do things differently in former Communist bloc countries, or I would not have bothered to type all of that out for you.
Where did you get the idea that I don't have my own apartment?
You said you rent it, so you don't own it. The landlord owns it.
Is that normal for the long term in the country you are in? Which is Canada or USA? Sounds like it, since you said that your tenants were there for longer then 8 years and even get benefits for it.
I own my apartment, I only pay tax for it to the gov. And ofc I pay for all the other services, like power/water/block management.
My family rents several apartments we own, the tenants do not own them.
I can have cats, dogs, a fucking zoo if I want to, as long as it is legal and does not cause issues to my neighbors. There are some shared decisions because it's a block like I have no central heating, due to the block citizens decided they don't need it(before I even bought the apartment), so I use ACs for it, but I also do not pay for the central heating, as a result.
