Give them time, as society gradually stops putting them in a secondary role we're seeing them scoring higher marks them men scholastically (again, Australia shows women scoring 4% higher in math and science and 14% higher in reading). 

A lot of women in history did not have the same opportunities, and there's many recorded cases even of their findings being taken from them to be represented as if founded by a man, imagine how many cases likely went unnoticed? The only real 'advantage' men have in a truly equal setting when it comes to more academic areas is their expediency of action for 'First Come First Serve' scenarios over how they're liable to jump into the fray without a plan compared to more Estrogenic traits that'd be more prone to staying back and studying the situation first.
