How much would I need for 2 weeks? I dont have high standards, but I would like to eat outside
Hotels start at about $500/night for a room that's barely adequate for the roaches.
If you're not wealthy, you might want to stay in NJ and commute in to NYC for the nightlife or smthg.
There are other places in the US to visit.
Might I recommend Atlanta, Nashville or Salt Lake City?
The mountains are also quite beautiful.
No, just ugly lol
Apparently, there are places in NJ where the people are very friendly, with a strong sense of community.
I don't know that from firsthand experience, tho. I found most of the northeastern US so ugly I didn't want to stay.
The NJ accent also makes everybody sound like a hitman in a mafia movie, so the second anybody threw me any shade, I wanted to dive under a table lol
But all kinds of youtubers swear up and down that NJ folks are some of the nicest people around.
According to someone I once knew (rendering it heresay I haven't looked up on my own), New York's rent costs are as good as how long ago you signed up for it. As a new tenant those prices will fuck you, but as someone who's been there for decades it's livable.
Commuting would be more realistic, and there are ways to save money when it comes to finding somewhere there to stay. I recently on my road trip stayed at a Hostel with a bar downstairs and their prices were very reasonable. To get to places like Time Square we just needed to take one Uber, and the new Weed Trucks they have installed there stocked up to the neck in edibles has changed the culture a bit.
Are you living in NYC, Tc? if not, where?
No, why would I be at a hostel and relying on heresay for rent notions if I lived there?
You rlly think Mr Friedlicht is going to stay in a hostel? Even if it's free or close to free?
lol just no. He's too narcissistic for that.
If you go during COVID they have significantly less people there. For the majority of my time there I wasn't actually sleeping with strangers in the room.
They also had board games downstairs, a few bookshelves, a shared kitchen, an amazing upstairs rooftop hangout with couches, was 420 friendly, and yeah, a bar. 😛
