if you are a mother or father just being around a child drunk is child abuse. children are very response sensitive and rely on facial expression, mirroring etc. If you look at your child fucked up on alcohol, that shit really has an effect. your child learns that it cant rely on your facial impression to gather information about what is going on, it is helpless to orient itself in this world etc. Later in life it will be very insecure and wont be able to regulate its own emotions etc. emotional ambivalence of parents in childhood and infanthood is going to make the child vulnerable to mental illness later in life. This is very well researched. Abuse is not just beating a child. Being drunk around children, especially babies, when you are their parent IS child abuse and does harm.
