As a heads up this website tends to have high and low seasons, namely Spring and Fall for heightened activity and Summer and Winter where it tends to lull. It would not be full time work.
Part of why I think an SC newspaper would work better, but it's proven difficult to round up a group consistently enough to get that done.
Why would a newspaper be better than a podcast during low seasons? There is not much to report in low seasons, on the other hand you could discuss for hours about related things on a podcast etc.
A newspaper wouldn't rely at all on call-ins. If there were a write-in section, which of course would be ideal, we'd have a whole month to get a couple people to write in with something. I see that being much easier to manage. At least for the interactive element of this.
Call ins are just an example. It could be an optional segment. Podcasts often have segments. There could be a segment 'loser/winner of the month' or "quote of the month", etc. You could have planned guests. Like TC (unironically im serious) tells us for half an hour things about her condition etc. I would be interested. Planning of episodes could take place publically an for everyone to participate and give their opinion beforehand. It could also be everything that a newspaper would be, just in spoken form.
