I just see a bunch of human rationalizations to try to cope with the idea of only having a finite amount of time, and from the lens of Psychology and Sociology that's super fascinating.

Science has already rationalized why people see weird shit when they're about to die, but no one wants to accept that narrative.
It's a DMT trip basically, the body dumps everything it has in your moment of expiration and some who've had Near Death Experiences have used this to justify their dream-like visions as some sort of reality.
