How broad are you considering horror, like just jump scares and shit or can it be eerie setting stuff?

Not really a horror movie, but I watched Inland empire on weed and it freaked me out to the point I had to pause every 3 minutes..

Are horror movies really good? Never knew what people see in it. I watched Get Out in the cinema but it was very whack. Blair witch project was whack. I also watched another one on Netflix recently. Can't remember the name.. I don't really get frightened. Any recommendations?

I'll never understand why people want to be frightened.

A recommendation.

Download an older horror movie into your mobile device. Nightmare on Elm Street, Exorcist, Friday the 13th. Something of that nature.

Find an abandond house or some type of facility with a cold concrete basement. The more secluded the better.

Enjoy your film in that environment at night by yourself. Be sure to use headphones nice and loud and crank up the brightness on the device so if you look away your eyes need time to adjust. This alone should make you uneasy.

If a flashlight quietly approaches then shines on you and you don't freak out, even after the unknown figure behind the light doesn't respond to however you react, then you probably won't get adrenaline when you need it most either and something is wrong with you.

Martyrs (2008) is probably my favorite horror, one of the few that have given me that "aw fuck" existential feeling. It's got a sort of twist at the end so I'd recommend not reading too much about it before you watch.

Disclaimer: It is in French, but you don't lose much by watching it subtitled.
